well i did it i destroyed my plane due to excess speed
how to do it
1. get the Me 163 Komet 2. start a training run at 20000 feet (9000 meters) go full throttle and dive verticaly. wings will rip off a about 2000 feet anyone on psn who wants to see picture send a request to me my psn is same as this and aparently everyone knows sorry |

I've even done it in my Yak-3!! It was crazy cool because at first, only the left wing tore, and put me into a wild crazy spin/sudden flip. After about a minute, the right wing tore off. IT WAS COOL!!! :cool:

I ripped the wings off of a YAK3. I think I came down from 28k ft. Couldn't get any higher and headed straight down, full blast. LOL
Seems like I've done it before in a damaged plane from much lower when trying to pull out of a dive. |
try it in the I 16 its so fragile the wings rip off at 13000ft

At very high speeds the effect of the drag being opposed by the aircraft's thrust, and gravity, is too much for the airframe. The exact speed that this happens depends on the airframe, but any of the prop aircraft should be right on the edge at 500mph in a dive. The jets are more resilient because they're designed to deal with greater thrust loading, but high subsonic speeds will still rip apart a 262. Altitude doesn't really come into it except as a means to accelerate to overspeed, although greater air density at lower altitudes does contribute to greater stresses on the airframe.
Even when airframes were developed that could withstand the strain of Mach 0.9+ there was still the issue of how to control it. The effects that are tearing your aircraft apart are the same ones that saw supersonic flight elude us for so long. |

About the only plane I haven't got this to work with is the B-17G and believe it or not, the Me-163. I have problems keeping it in the vertical, seems like the nose always wants to tuck under on me.
