your favorite plane
hello
what is your favorite plane and why? i start:my favorite is the i 153 because it is very good in tights turns and with rockets it can be dangerous even if it is too slow and not solid.i play in realistic and arcade for details during world war 2 a pilots became aces with their i 153: -cpt a.g batourine 71th iap 9 kills -cpt k.v solovyov 71th iap 5 kills heroes of the soviet union the october 23th 1942 and killed in action the december 27th 1942 good luck and good hunting!!! |
Hawker Hurricane
robust/good gun platform/versatile/elagent/beautiful/forgiving/good turning ability..... only VC of the battle of briatin went to a hurricane pilot Eric James Brindley Nicolson. Top scoring pilot during the battle was also a hurricane pilot :D all this aside.... whats not to love? |
Without a doubt the LA7 is the most perfect plane of the game, never stalls. this is why i dont use it.
I used to fly the spitfire, and this was my favorite but matches seemed too easy when I use it. I currently fly the Hurricane and the MC 202, and I have been kicking ass with them, the matches are more competitive now because the speed disadvantage of the hurricane and the slow reactions of the MC 202 make it harder on me but also more fun. My list of top favorite Spitfire - invincible when I fly it lol hurricane - predator attractor, however im no easy prey on it MC 202 - my new favorite toy, love the skin, hate guns, try me you will be surprised lol. fw190 - the love of my life, I use it only against bombers or boom and Zoom tactics, or against the MC 202, p-51, bf109 k-4 and G6. I-16 - good little plane but also out turns everything but the I-153. I use it sometimes in CTA to blow up those annoying bombers with my rockets. least favorite bf 109's - I loved the pc ones but these; no. maybe when they get cockpits. La7 - come on, too perfect, make it overheat at least, great plane, but no skill needed to fly it. I-153 - out turns everything wow, then when I use boom and zoom on them they quit. |
Bf109, F-4 for maneuverability and G-6 for firepower.
For the allied planes I like the Hurricane. I HATE the spitfire. |
In real life and in the game its the BF-109's and its not even a question. Mostly the K-4 because its very stable for having those cannons. Cant stand the F-4 because it cant punch through a wet paper bag.
Fav. Allied plane: P-38 Most hated planes in order of hatred: (Both in real life and in game) 1. Mustang 2. Spitfire 3. La-7 4. Yak series |
why the hatred though?

(yeahhh the hurri was more succesfull that the spit... ssst ) |
Liked (in order):
P-51-once it gets it's fix I will hopefully spend my majority of airtime in it B-25-oh wait...that's not in the game  A20G-Part of the B-25 replacement plan IL2M-Deadliest machine guns/cannons in the game IMO Hurricane-great cockpit and fun to fly, but not great competition online Po-2-For when I'm feeling like some classic bi plane action or just cruising in training mode Disliked (in order): Yak 9T-unbelievable recoil makes it a chore to take down most planes Ju series planes-useless as bombers and as fighters MC 202-Sitting duck, well in my hands at least FW 190-also useless with it's current flight model |
In the real world:
Vought F4U Corsair P38 Lighting P-51 Mustang (love the sound of the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine) In the game: Spitfire La-7 Bf-109 |
Favourite plane as of right now is the Bf-109 G-6. Deadly firepower.
|
I cant understand the hatred of the allied planes he's mentioned to be honest.
IF they were so bad then maybe i would understand, but they were as you stated the most succesful allied fighters of the war...... |
If were donig real life/game favourites then -
In reality i love the hawker hurricane. Its a truly great aircraft and unfortunately over looked by its ugly sister the shitfire. It got any job it was tasked to do, done! it didnt let you down and it looked after you. In the game.... i enjoy the hawker hurricane in free flight (training) and any game mode set to 1940. Occasionaly i'll fly her in a CTA or Siege game. But online i prefer to fly the spitfire Mk IX, though i have the XVI unlocked, the IX does the job better i find :D |
Alright! I'm back. Tired though, but whatever. :P
Favorite in real life: Yak-3, Yak-1b, La-5FN, I-16, I-153, and every other Soviet plane. Obviously. Favorite in game: Yak-3, La-5FN, I-16, Yak-1b, I-153 Disliked in real life: None, I like them all one way or another. Haha Disliked in game: Yak-9T, P-51D-5, Me series, and probably all the jets. |

The Stang and the Spit are the two most over-rated planes in history. The only thing really good about the Stang was its range....and speed. FYI: There are allied planes I do like: P-38 (my grandpa was a picific vet and loved them.) P-40, P-39 (yes I said P-39) also the Mitchel, and I DO like the Hurricane...my fav. non American allied plane. HOW COULD I FORGET THE F4U!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT PLANE......No BF-109 though!! Plus my favorite pilot flew 109's ...i gotta love them |
My favorite ww2 planes in real life:
F4U-Corsair, B-17G Flying Fortress, P-47D Thunderbolt, P-51D Mustang. In game: Yak1B (very nice plane), B-17, P-47(even though poorly represented), IL2-M, and I-153. Hopefully the P-51 will be added here soon after the update. |

Back IT, my favs are Bf-109 and Fw190 in both RL and game. Yes, I'm having fun flying the 190 in training missions against spits. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I'm good at flying it :P , but I love its roll rate!! :) |
Everyone is listing fighters of course but my favorite is the one the game's named after.
The best part of the game imho is using simulation mode and having to find and identify targets. The flak is weak but it's still the most fun part, having to look and figure out where the enemy is, and make sure it's not a friendly. Ground targets tend to be a bigger challenge cause there's so many of them. The IL-2 is the easiest to set up an attack run with, except maybe ju-87, and it can make a decent self-defense against fighters if it has to. And you can aim with precision. Favorite fighter the La's, though they're kind of unfair to use except as an answer to someone's bf109k. And the Focke-Wulf 190 is ok. Don't like the p51's. A multirole plane that isn't all that great at either role. Favorite bomber: don't know yet. Won't know until people actually start playing Strike mode so I can use one. With limited ammo that is, so you can't just fly around in an il-10 with enough ordnance to level a small town. |
well i like the bf109 series all ways have from a child and building airfix models
but my fav plane has got to be for the axis me 262 i dont know why i just like it plus it was the one model i saw in the local model shop (dont seem to be many around anymore:() that i had to save up for months to get it was huge 1/32 scale i think and for the allies it deffo got to be the p38 lightning i just love the twin tail setup shame no p38 in game :( double shame the me262 is crap in the game :( lol |
in the real life my favorite are:
1-f6f hellcat 2-f4u corsair 3-n1k shinden for the history the last dogfight of the ww2 was the dogfight of the august 15th 1945 between the f6f hellcat of us navy vf88 squadron and a6m zeros ,j2m3 jake of the japanese navy 302 kokutai four americans pilots were killed and 9 japaneses planes were destroyed the jap leader was yutaka morioka, he had a hook instead of his left hand because he lost his left hand during a fight against the b29 in january 1945 |
my fave plane on the game is spit ix or spit xvi if we can ever unclip the wings my fave plane in real life is the N1K Shiden or the J7W Shinden

The spit Mk XIV in the game has what was known as the LF for Low Flight wing. The tips were cut off and squared off to offer a better turning radius at low altitude. At least that's what it looks like in the pics I've seen, haven't unlocked it yet myself.

Desert camo ruins it, but it looks good. Clipped wings and teardrop canopy :D not wuite as sexy as the hurricane though lol. As nice as it is, it doesnt perform as well in a turn compared to the IX. |
ahh i see now i think some of the 109s had clipped wings too ?? i can kind of remember having a model that had squared off wings ??
|
Quote:
some of them did, but all in all thye stuck with the standard wing. |
hello dazz971
the models of 109s who had squared off wings are :bf109 d,bf109e |
cliped wings does mean a squared off wing it was an option on late spitfires to increce roll at the cost of some turning
|
In "Real Life"
1) FW 109 Series 2) BF 109 Series 3) Spitfire Series FW 190D-9 is my overall favorite, but the one in the game handles alot like the 1968 Opel Kadett station wagon that I bought from my grandfather for $500 when I was in highschool. The Opel even had a better roll rate -- believe me, I know... "In game" BF 109K (by default really. Although I've always like the Spits, I find their performance a little too "Glorified" in this game -- like the Russian planes -- so using them is kind of boring.) |
My favorite plane is the Me-109 G6.
fantastic fire power, not so great turing rate and great speed. best looking Plane in my opnion? the Me-109E Love the Classic Yellow Nose and Wingtips. Best Looking allied plane that i have in my Game...? Hurricane. |

La-7. Swift, maneuverable and steady with the shot.
|
oh good soviet ace
i forget the model c thanks |

Also, my new favorite plane.... well actually it's been my favorite German plane for awhile because it was the last light weight 109. The Me-109F4  I like the paint job for it as well. |
fw 190
it would be the fw 190 if it had its real turn radius (its supposed to be able to out turn the bf-109 with its 23 second circle) but i guess since they screwed it up i would have to pick the good old bf-109 f4.
least favorite would have to be the spits not because theyre good or anything but because thats what youd expect every1 to use. also i i hate how every1 says they should fix the p51 its not supposed to be a good turner it was built for speed and dive plus its supposed to be rather hard to fly |
