You are right about my wanting to upload pictures to the forum. Sorry for the confusion.
binky9 |
No worries. You can attach pictures to your posts by scrolling down to the 'Manage Attachments' box when you're writing your post and uploading the picture from your computer, but this will only make your picture appear as a link in writing that people will have to click on in order to view the picture.
What most people do is upload the picture to an image-storing website like http://imageshack.us/ This allows you to embed the picture, as is, in your forum posts via a link the storage website automatically provides when you upload a picture to them. It's a bit of a hassle getting it all set up and then figuring out exactly how to embed the images (although really all you do is copy and paste the embed link straight into the post you want it to appear in, you don't have to use any of the forum tools to do it), but it's worth setting it up just to give yourself the option of inserting pictures into not just screenshot threads but any other forums you might use. Just a point to remember, you'll want to reduce the size of your 1920x1080 screenshots by about half in order to make them fit the forums format and keep them from going off the side of the page. |

once again, your skins are a must for me! @Pato Salvaje, use the track ir to roll it, you can use all of the 6 degrees of freedom to move the camera around, can get way better shots than you ever could in il2 because of that:-) |
lol OK.
Thank you. I´ll try it. |
Pause the game (or track), disable TrackIr (F11 for me), F10 to remove the cursor arrow (this also free's up camera movement), then move the mouse until you get the angle you want.

Rodolphe thats a hell of a pics
awesome buddy... |
how do you post screenshoots into a thread?
|
Rodolphe, how did you get the reflections!?
|
They are still there but only under very specific conditions. All other reflections that would have been there have been somehow filtered out with last patch.
|
Fair enough, but look at:
http://users.teledisnet.be/web/mfe39146/Nacht3.jpg (I won't embed the image, don't want to screw up formatting with someone else's pic) The reflection are easily visible on the top of the wings, across the engine and on the side of the plane. I started the new beta (2) with the nightfighter skin at a similar time and there is NO light reflection on the top of the wing (the most visible spot in the pic) nor anywhere else! The effect is also very visible in the he111 pics and a couple of the other by Rodolphe, if there is ANY way to get this effect back please for gods sake tell us because it really makes the game look fantastic. |

In the pic Verhängnis posted you can clearly see the draw distance of the new textures. The "patterned" landscape ends and turns to solid green. Only forests remain dark green. This is the draw area around your plane I have been talking about. Most easily seen when taking Single Player -> Quick Mission -> Free flight England. Press fly and look towards France and you see what I mean..the landscape is textured only at a small area near coast but inland it is light green/sand colored. This textured area moves along whey you fly and quite easy to spot. So I really hope Luthier & Co fix this along with the performance issues :) |
Thanks, it shows the fine detailing in the Wing. Textures in CoD are great. :)

Did you have to touch up the propellors, cockpit glass and smoke/vapour by hand after compositing, or is there a way to do it automatically? With my limited knowledge of such things I just can't figure out how you managed to include those semi-transparent elements. |

Very nice evocative screenshots Rodolphe!
However I do not believe there were any such single aircraft hangar in Mannheim-Sandhofen :-); see the photo below: http://www.fliegerhorst-sandhofen-co...r/map_1939.jpg Sandhofen was one of these typical peacetime-built German air bases with large aprons and hangars. Mölders aircraft were usually in the open, or inside the large hangars. The single-fighter hangars (in their oh so many variations!) were almost exclusive to German bases installed on French soil as of August 1940 or so. The second screenshot is located in front of a pair of "demi-tonneaux" French hangars, which are also typical of certain peace-time French airbases. Their CoD rendition is very nice and on the spot (I should know, I provided the data). There were however quite sparse in CloD area: Rouen-Boos (one pair), Amiens-Glisy (one pair), Caen Carpiquet (two sets of four pairs),and close by but not in the CloD area, Lille-Vendeville (one pair)... So if you could do the same with a Bf-110 of I., III. or Stab/ZG26, you would be spot-on...but poetic license being what it is, I would not hold it against you :-) Amically, JVM |

Managed to get the searchlights working in the FMB. Bit disappointing really - not as good as IL2, eratic sweeping behaviour and not blinding in the cockpit.
http://i1093.photobucket.com/albums/...027_125523.jpg Used Photoshop on this one to correct the contrast. http://i1093.photobucket.com/albums/...027_125255.jpg |

Some really nice shots there guys.
But could you please use the original screenshot thread here - http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthr...ht=screenshots Or this one for more artisitic, edited screenshots - http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthr...ht=screenshots This thread was started by Rodolphe to highlight his own work in particular. It's no big deal, but it'd be good to maintain a central screenshot thread as a reference so people can see the history of the game's development, and so good pictures like you're posting here don't get spread all over the place and 'lost' over time. Of course it would help too if a mod would sticky the main screenshot thread linked to above as well. That seems to have been overlooked somehow. |

Hey
After a nice fight with a bf 109 i tried to get home like this... and then run into the escort of a single he 111, which was my end... The Other one is possibly the max altitude in the game. In Multiplayer a 109 got sucked upwards by god after having a ping-timeout. With the external view of enemys allowed, i took that screenshot. |

haha yeah, it's the only target big enough for me to hit!
|
I realize how strangely the glass nose of the Blennie was designed. Anyone knows the reason for this?
Another interesting detail: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_Blenheim apparently the bomb doors where not opened automatically but by the shear weight of the bombs when they were released and falling on the doors that were kept closed by bungee cords ... reduced bombing accuracy. I wonder if this is simulated in the game. |
Yep to give the pilot a better view over the nose.
The first example of the "Long Nose" Blenheim had a full enclosure like the HEIII. (See lower image below)There were visibility issues with this. The next design had a symmetrical type arrangement to the nose panels (See upper mockup image). This too had over the nose pilot visibilty issues. The solution was to scallop the section immediately in front of the pilot thus giving him a better over the nose view/sightline. http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/9...heimivnose.jpg Strangely the Blenheims ultimate derivative the Beaufort had symmetrical nose panels. The Blenheim V had a solid section here as well. |

Yeah Krupi, they're those special FMB clouds. They still need a hell of a lot of work though to make them good for anything other than very selectively composed and edited screenshots and video shots. They're very hard on the frame-rates and have lots of graphical bugs.
Glad you like the pics guys. I just used GIMP, the free image manipulation software. All I did was use it's 'Clone' tool to cover up the instrument indicators, then use it's 'Smudge' tool to blur the banding in the clouds, then resized the images, nothing to it really. |
