It's been a while
I've been mostly playing the game rather than posting screenshots but here are a few.

How the mothers bacon do you get the AA to look so good. I've got mine forced through my GTX580 at 32x with a reso of 1920x1080 and still can't get such crisp edges!

I wish COD had such sharp edges
But here's why they look so good.
1. I'm using FSAA with the modified DLL's that someone posted above. Definitely an improvement over in-game 2. These pictures are downscaled from 1920x1280, the resolution I play to 1024x800. And of course a number of color corrections applied to them. |

A little more, and i thought that was a photo (oo)
|
Ali- those are just super. Wow, the terrain really is showing up a lot better after the patch. Guess you were right after all - that it was more of a lighting/shading issue than texture issue. Have you noticed any changes to the terrain textures at all? I still haven't had time to play with the new patch, but I am truly liking what I see from these screens.

ive not had a dump today ! (hehehehe) but really ill eat my hat if those textures have changed. im liking what they have done to invoke these new additions.and i think i got my head around how theyve done it too(see end of post) !, but they need tweaked severely. between the blinding sun and the haze (which i think is dynamic BTW !) there is to much of it. and its resolution needs broadened where the effect is concerned. by dynamic i mean it does dissipate a little the close to the ground you get. need to play and witness more to get to grips with it. alas its time for a dump \o/ EDIT : after a long dump :) no change to textures that i can see, and thanks for the understanding about my comments and conceptual understanding. and !not sure but i found this stuff in there. might have been there before but theres alot of it (cg files) * Precomputed Atmospheric Scattering http://www-ljk.imag.fr/Publications/.../index_en.html There is no doubt in my mind now about how great this will be eventually. |

excellent shots

ive been playing with contrast on my system and it does make the grey haze look better, i feel whoever tuned it has got lower than average settings for contrast.

[QUOTE=Jaws2002;333025]Few I got tonight.:)
Is it just me or do your clouds look much better as normal as well? Terrain really looks good now. With the new transparent shorelines, do waterlandings look better as well? from inside the cockpit/ |

also lol ive angled my lcd monitor more upwards, and it looks better. so yeah theres possibly a contrast issue. i dont declare mine is correct but iam a graphic artist at heart so my sentiments surely mean somthing. and i like to look on the monitor directly with no angles. tilting the thing makes it darker and more contrasty. the wonderfull thing about these HD lighting effects is that im pretty sure its all procedural in essence. but the config files are too complicated for me presently. |

Hi guys,
Sorry to ask this Q but. Were the hell is the screens shots held ? I have looked in all the places as well as steam nothing. Gone to mydoc's/IL2soft whatever/ screen shots/.......nothing! What key is it to take a screenshot? I used to have it sorted but have lost the touch.its been a while since i have flown COD but since new Beta patch getting back into it.:) Cheers O_Smiladon |
Windows is overlaying the <Print Screen> key, that´s why that the game don´t take screenshots.
Just go to in game options and remap the screenshot key to another key, to f12 for example, and the game will take screenshots again and locate them in your \Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\screenshots folder. |

Excellent Photos all .. here's my contrib ..Pub Park .. all good Defiant pilots know where to park their rigs .. right in the front door of the Pub!
Pity we cannot save tracks like in IL2-1946 where you could run them back in slow-motion, swap aircraft, swap views etc . |

What a fantastic detailed mesh - soo realistic! (rear wheel shot off too)
Playing one of the quick missions, flying Blenheims to bomb a airfield (where's the bombs?), I usually get intercepted by 110s on the home journey .. and that's it! All over red rover! .. Firing the Vickers shoots all over the place & i usually get killed fairly quickly .. :( Just goes to prove the 110 was a stable firing platform and a heavy hitter, while the turreted vickers was basically useless. . |

good that you can disable all that though. |

To play the track you've just recorded, go to the main menu and select Extras/Tracks/Select, choose the track you want to play, click Open, then Play... |

Quick question, how do you guys make those nice screenshots without having all the 'garbage' on your screen like the chatbox and control indicators? Do you crop it out or is there something else?
|
You have to Alt-click the box you want to get rid of, then it will turn a more opaque grey. I think then you right click the box to bring up a little menu and you select 'delete info window' or something like that.
(Obviously you would have to do this before you took the screenshot...) |

Tracks are not video files, they are data files that contain our mission configuration and action´s tracking data. With which missions can be played using the game plays as theater. Playing tracks you can pause, go forward, go backward, slow-motion, change the camera, the field of view and position of them, switch planes ... and hide windows and icons. To make a track file just click record in the mission options and make a record track file, "replay.trk" for example, to use has default replay´s vault. Then if the mission was worth to replay go to "Main menu / Extras / Play tracks" to play the last mission´s replay file. Once is loaded there will be options of "Change views", "Hide message windows" and "Hide icons", just tick them and click start (if the screen is showing blue artifacts press F1, its a bug). Using this way you dont have to deal with changes in info windows configurations, saving your current one, and you have no limits to make beautiful screenshots. |
