Wow, so damn near perfect.
I wonder, and I know Im going out on a limb here, if secondary explosions will be detailed? |

However the effects are still amazing and while I don't know how AP on water should look in real life, those are still millions better than the tiny default IL-2 splashes for Ju-87G. |

did you see that : http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.ph...c,23714.0.html
It look awesome. 3D water better than water=4 :D Just hope it will work in DirectX(because openGL doesn't work on my laptop)... Hope it will come in a patch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moZNunWyhRQ http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/v...1217-44-34.jpg that can be done in DirectX 9.0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYesJtyVzFU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGGa4PJ0z1M |
IL2 doesn't support DirectX. When you run it in that mode it just wraps OpenGL for compatibility. So adding any feature that uses DirectX is unlikely.

Is it possible for ricochets to be modeled or is it not possible with the engine?

About the only time I've heard of richocheting bullets intentionally being used to attack foes is when bullets are "skipped" off water or hard ground so that they "bounce" into the side of a lightly armored boat or the underside of an armored vehicle. Since there are lots of variables you have to get just right (angle of attack, compressibility of the surface, bullet drop) and whatnot, it's probably more of a shooter's legend than a valid attack technique (unlike skip bombing, which is modeled in the game and which was regularly used during WW2). |
Even if its not doable in terms of modeling damage from a ricochet it would still be a great visual enhancement which is more what i was leaning towords.
|
I thought ricochet are already in the game? Might be a mod, but since I have seen ricochet in IL-2 it's definitely possible.
Also as far as I know the tanks damage model might not be the most detailed but there are different armor values for the front, back, sides and top. |
Very nice effect.
Anyone use ENBseries? Actually there is a converter to add dx9 effect to dx8 games (i.e. GTA), but (i think) need to be correctely configured to work in IL2. |
