Additionally, if you have disabled Cloud Synchronization for config files, you may be playing
a game with an obsolete controls config. Please back up and delete your old file and reenable
Cloud Synchronization to grab a latest stock version.

as a non native english speaker and a STEAM novice - I personally would like to have a further explanation about this please.
Thx in advance !

I don't see what's strange, seems to be working great. You have a 3gb card according to your specs, so the game is using the VRAM available to the best of it's ability. Why have 3gb of VRAM and not use it? On my 1.2gb card the game consistently uses 1-1.1gb of VRAM.

I got dissapearing buildings too from close range but fixed it when i choose building amount to UNLIMITED, there was no performance loss.

Lowered Texture Quality Orginal -> High, i get this way really smooth fly over london rooftops.

Funnily enough i had to go the oposite way, from unlimited to high :D but fixed that problem so im happy :) also the texture change did wonders over london, nice and smooth low over buildings :D awsome stuff that, thanks for the heads up :D

This is what I did (WIN 7):

-Go to C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover
-Deleted all .ini files
-Started the game and re-assigned all my controls and settings.

The result is worth it :)

Yeah, all who have bad stutter over London, try lower your texture quality by one notch, made my game smooth over London. When i lowered it i can raise other things without performance loss.

THIS , for sure, i dont want do !!!
Perhaps it is possible to copy the settings via WordPad (or similar programm) in the than new conf file ??

and what is so different in the new one.

As i said, to configurate the controls and infowindow is a lot of hassle with this game (i also have the complete bombercontrols mapped !) !!
And before i will do that again i want know why i should do that exactly !!

btw, if you are start a mission on the ground with a 109, is your pitch also going automaticaly and unstopable to full coarse. And than you have to set it to full fine before start ? just beeing curious.

Thank you for the explanation Urufu! I remember users with 2GB VRAM reporting a max load of 1.5 MB, I believed that this was the game ceiling.

Really bad FPS drops

I've been having this really nasty problem since the last two patches (the beta, and now the official release) where my FPS will be up in normal ranges (around 20-30 FPS) and then suddenly drop into the single digits, regardless of what direction I'm looking or whether I'm flying over ground. Before these recent patches I did NOT have this problem. It seems like just when things are working another patch comes around to screw everything up for me performance-wise.

It's almost like there's a memory leak. Anyone else having this issue? It makes the game completely unplayable for me. I could reinstall but I don't have a very fast internet connection and redownloading the game could take a very long time.

I'll also put this in a thread in the Technical Problems forum.

My relevant specs:

Windows 7 Ultimate
Intel i7 930 2.8 ghz (stock clock) quad-core
Geforce GTX 260 896 MB (overclocked to 675 ghz)
Rosewill 600W PSU
1 TB HD
6 GB ADATA DDR3 RAM
