There are no new arguments to this from the mod supporters`.I understand that you have an obvious interest in diminishing the past experiences with such mods and misinforming.
You question the reality which is online play in combat sims like CFS.They are dead.

cars CAN kill...but that doesn't mean everyone driving a car is a killer...
Does one car crash cause whole cities to stop functionning?
The analogy is clearly flawed.

I have been using the mods for months...and am very active in the AAA forums.... I am certainly not lacking in intelligence (IQ=140)...but I do not see anywhere how the anti crowd can claim that it is EASY to hack the FM.... it is certainly not right there in front of your face.... you may have to go looking deep in the files to be able to do so....
That is a lie. More misinformation.

I inform those reading:

Changing FM/DM is very easy as it is based on the same way of modding as the sound plus changing some parameters.

There is no need of higher math information or special PC info. A single user able to switch between two IL2 versions is perfectly able to mod anything the game is, especially the FM/DM as the easiest parts.

Quote:

and to make those kind of changes requires the use of 'Qtims sfs extractor tool'... which is NOT a part of the mod kit...and has to be got from another source...if you want to use it
It is easily accesible on multiple forums aswell as on all the online applications used to play IL2 online. The tools are widespread, easy to use.

I believe that MOST of the people using the mods have just downloaded what is available from the AAA site...and are not interested in making their own
Thses folks are supporting the mods - sums up their respect for the agme let alone the maker of it.There is nothing respectable in that and it is time you admit it.

More information on the issue: the hacking tools have been already downloaded in a number of about 10000 samples. Add to that a simple player to player exchange and you got a plague.

To label everyone who uses the mods as cheats is ridiculous...
It is a logical consequence of the past expereinces with open code modding and part of a defense mechanism as:

1) the cracking of the code is illegal
2) the modding has no acceptance from Oleg Maddox
3) there is no way to prove that anyone is using the mods online against the server administration.

Quote:

But for those who adamantly deny themselves the use of the mods..... you are very soon about to miss out on some of the most interesting work which has been done.......
new maps are in progress.......the Aleutians..... The Slot..... Truk .... N.W.Europe ..... Malta.....

Not one minute have I been interested in those. Everything from the site is benefitting from doings that are against the developper and is offending his laws.
The " interesting work" has therefore no value whatsoever.

Following this thread closely. Some really interesting stuff going on with this sim. Am I wrong to conclude that at this point 4.08 is pretty well compromised for online play?

If the main point for you is level playing field and victory depending on players` skills
then yes, it has become non-existant.

The past experiences with Mods such as Over Flanders Fields for CFS3, Mediterranean Airwar for CFS3, the Superpak Mods for Falcon4.0, Team Super Hornet for Janes F/A18 and Grey Wolves for Silent Hunter III are that they have improved the games significantly…adding to realism, immersion and gameplay. Where is the negative experience with Mods that is constantly refered to? I am certainly not aware of any…
You say that Combat Flight Sims which have been modded by the community are dead yet completely ignore the fact that every single Combat Flight Simulation has been extensively modded…are you telling me that they are all dead? That IL2 is the Only Flight Simulation that people play currently?

I'll ask again. What are the number online for any of those games you mentioned during any night? Nothing even close to IL2 in just hyperlobby.

Makes you wonder why any other publisher bothers releasing a Combat Flight Sim if IL2 is the only one anyone buys and plays doesn't it? Surely it can't be commercially viable for Shockwave to plan on releasing a Flying Tigers Flight Sim, Lead Pursuit to Plan a new Modern Jet Sim and the LOMAC team to develop Black Shark, if no-one plays any other Flight Sims doesn't it...

don't forget thirdwire. They've got something going with jets over the middle east. and said sim is supremely modabble. unfortunately the lack of multiplayer seems to be killing that series of sims.

Sweet mother of..... what a bunch of mindless chatter in here, what are u guys...2??? u jerk around in here and then giggle at that pathetic hackers forum of yours, backtalking fellow simmers, commenting on their persona and hit eachother's back - still giggeling like 12 year old school girls.... Beside Ivan's posts and a few more, this is just a load of *****

MOD? please.... this is not what I was hoping for.. this is getting worse than "that other place" which I lost hope in a long long time ago... but still it was beeing SOMEWHAT modded...

now...don't get me wrong... I love you all guys, everyone of you, but you really REALLY have to sharpen up!

And Uther.. stop pestering Evgeny.. he has a tough job as it is without u messing with him.... grow up. Moma can see u!

The third wire series is absolutely great for excellent modability... :)

No, but IL2 is the only Combat Flight Simulation still played massivelly online 6 years after the demo release.... you can't find another exemple.
... and it has also been extensively modded... the only difference is that the modding has been under control by M:1C, this insuring quality control AND online unity.
