Arthur, old chum - size isn't everything :-P photobucket has an image size setting in the profile somewhere. A dirty trick I use is to save JPEGs at 95% quality - your eyes won't notice it, but it greatly reduces the size of the upload/downloaded image. Hope it helps.

Cheers, SlipBall. All of my big 'uns are straight out of the game - just converted from Bitmap to JPEG.
It's all Arthur's fault - he posted on RoF about how smoothly CLoD runs and I took a chance on a £10 download. I haven't regretted it.

Glad to be of service, Arthur. Nice shot.

Lady Tiger Moth

Suicide Mission..... Ramming !!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/ww2peop...a7467573.shtml

The proposed scheme was that the Tiger Moths would fly to an advanced landing ground near the coast where eight 20lb bombs would be loaded, then fly to the beaches and bomb the invading troops. As one can imagine this was considered a suicide mission and no one was in any doubt about it, especially the pilots

Turn the mirror off (default-key is m), it doesn´t work properly anyway. Should give you some fps.

It's viable. Certainly not without faults, but viable. You can pick up ClOD for less than the price of a pint of beer if you shop around - cold comfort to those who shelled out on release day, I know. With the 'last patch', it is what it is. Suck it and see.

Thanks for kind words.

Grounded for one escapade too many with the vicar's daughter and a Tiger Moth, Pilot Officer Gusset is determined to 'do his bit' as he wanders the highways and byways of Kent with his trusty Box Brownie, confirming kills for his chums. He yearns to find a nice Leica or Rolliflex in the wreckage, but the local kids always get there first...

It's silly little touches that could make it all graphically more pleasing - I mentioned the Morse code antenna wires earlier, and I haven't seen a village church in any of the villages yet (I've started placing them myself). Windmills - yes, they were about, but not in such numbers. And forests - they need toning down (that could be my fault for maxing everything out in options - will experiment). Brighton, Bournemouth and Southend piers would be nice...and so on and so on. But for all my whining, there are more than a few moments where I've thought "photo realistic is no longer just a phrase games developers throw about" Trouble is I'm having such a blast messing about with screenies that my actual flying time is suffering. War Thunder?

They have a nice selection of aircraft along with some criminally underrepresented AC, like the D520 , boomerang and He112.

The aircraft model detail is much lower then CLOD, the cockpits are a lot worse, and ground wise its similar to wings of prey.

The FM is awful though. The hurri is an E fighter, zeros can dive like the dickens and german planes are basically a waste. Oh, and if you thought the pro-russian bias in vanilla Il-2 was bad then you are in for a surprise.

And you are going to have to grind for XP to unlock more planes or just cave in and buy them.

Its fun as a F2P arcadey flight sim. And it has a lot of people playing - most of whom are greener then green. If you can bnz then its pretty easy to dominate people... and really fun when they've shelled out tons of cash for high level AC.
