Im gonna have to pull out of this tourney: i've just received the box from purolator and i'm sending the ps3 to sony for repairs today. I couldnt get in touch with subarugaz over the weekend to play the first round match so i'll leave you guys to decide what to do at this point.

The repair center isnt too far away from where i live so it shouldnt take too long (finger crossed). Im hoping its going to take about a week or so, but i guess this is kinda wishfull thinking on my part since we're in the holidays n all...

id happily buy a bigger machine if it was better like the ps3 orriginal was out when the ps2 slim was out i went for the better machine not the small light one

The whole slim console thing is ridiculous, they lighten it for what reason? So you can carry it around with you? My ps3 hasn't moved in over 2 years.

When they made the ps2 slim, there were brand new problems for it, too. The first lasers malfunctioned early.

I wish I'd known the first elim round would take so long to complete, I'd have waited till my days off to play. If it's not done soon, the second round won't start till after Christmas

in sony's defence (why the hell am i taking their defence here idk :confused:), they made the ps3 slim more energy efficient. Maybe thats what pushed the rainbow warrior in me to buy this particular model. I think it consumes like half the power of the original... and there was prob some pressure to release a new (!) product cause their sales figures werent doin that good, from what ive heard

Great match last night XxSilencexX. Some really nice flying mate, and a good win. It was damn close though! I was really hoping you'd fly into the Radar masts near Dover..... I was tempted to try and fly between the cables on the mast, but I'm not sure if i trust the collision detection in the game... Is it even possible to fly between the cables? Has anyone tried it?

Thx, like I said, you use the landscape better than nearly everyone I've played with. I almost hit the cliffs like 4 times chasing you and I think I came within a foot of hitting the damn radar towers. XD.

About flying between the radar towers, you can't. Just like you can't fly under the docks in Dover Harbour... <.<

Anyways, next time your on IL-2 or even MW2 (Though I won't be on MW2 much after X-mas) send me an invite :)

the entire radar structure is harmless, collission free. You will go right through any part of it as if it was a ghost :)

Edal please let P51 go on with the tourney, as usually I'm having sudden problem so I can't play, but this time I met with P51, invited him and had to leave just before we started. I was speaking with MIRGERVIN the other night about how great it would be to have the final match of this tournament documented, i.e. an edited video of the match from the recorded screens of both players. There are some truly talented video editors (e.g. Houndstone Hawk) in the forums who could be asked if they'd like to do this for the community, and I'm sure the result would be nothing but spectacular. Everyone would just love to see that match!

Does someone here know what equipment would be required to make good enough recordings? Perhaps, the finalists already have some equipment, or maybe, we could somehow put together to make this happen for both players. I'd be in.

Edal, would you be willing to give this some thought and, perhaps, set the date for the 'Grand Finale' so that there would be enough time to organise this?

Opinions, suggestions, everybody?

It would indeed make a great video. Edal's obviously got some tastey capture equipment. If only Hawk hadn't flogged his PS3 copy (assuming he can capture PS3 also)... If anyone else has PS3 capture potential, maybe they could enter the match in a bomber and watch (and capture) from the turret?

OK, I've got to give props to infinite. I just had one of the most intense games ever. I was up by one after I killed him with about 50 seconds left. Then he spawns full throttle all the way till we meet head-on-head, Sprays and kills me with <5 seconds left :eek: Straight up epic!

That was the single most intense game of this whole entire tournament (for me). Awesome game man - well worth the wait. But now according to the rules, Edal has to referee a sudden death match...? It would have been so much easier if I hadn't got that last second insta-kill.

Probably a USB memory stick or email via PSN browser.

External hard drive, but yeah a USB stick would work just as well. Press triangle on the photo and choose copy when a USB storage device is plugged into the PS3.

I don't know about email, as in my experience the PS3 fails when a webpage tries to open a file dialogue box... It might work though.

Yea thats what i got too, its definately a game that relys heavily on communication or else you are garunteed a total team failure. plus theres the people who choose not to follow orders and go on their own little shooting campaign which always results in death upon death.
