The Il2 franchise has always been a online sim first.

To bad you missed out, the best pilots are human.

I don't believe I've "missed out" on anything :-)
I agree with you that human opponents do provide more of a challenge sometimes, but not always. Lots of time online players are only interested in shooting, dying and respawning - there's nothing "better" in that, at least not for me.

Totally right, bladeracer. That is, why such a sim is only long term fun, if you play organized missions clan vs clan and use such dogfighting servers for training with your wingman. It is all about team work and discipline and a squadron needs rules, even on engaging such opponents. Otherwise you never learn flying correctly. But clod do not seem to easily support the com to create closed and sufficiently planned flights and dynamic scenarious building its own storyline.

In il2 we had squadrons and they organized their swarms, their wingmen and sent them to flight schools. That all created immersion, but is currently dead in clod.

Your advise and conclusions can not be taken seriously...maybe the new forum is best for your advice to get that sim right

No advise in my post! :) I was just commenting.

And the vote... Ehm.... Just fun, because I somehow cannot take it seriously. It will change and perhaps with the new seow thing, which was mentioned here, there will be soon flying more guys on closed servers. I felt like my small cousin tips my legs, looks up and asked a stupid question :) No insult, but I do not know, what the polls sense is.... ;)

And I will state in the new forum as soon I have the feeling, that the engine or the game is capable of doing such things. But I would say: To top the il2 and clod possibilities, they have to renew the engine dramatically. And in my view it would be better to take some engine sources of clod, too -if possible.

Otherwise some people will soon clain 777studios to make a big step backwards.

But no matter what happens to the game. If it creates longterm fun with simulation priorities, it do not matter at all. But I simply doubt it, as some of my essential wishes are too far away from their engine. But you never know.... ;)

:)

It will not be possible in BoS and that is sad step back.

Loft only said maybe we will think about it if BoS sells well.

It was in big thread in the Russian forum that disappeared as other threads "can we get this?" No! "Why, we have that in il2 and in CloD? "
Swooosh ;)

From all accounts the desastersoft addons are excelent.
I am getting their JG26 campaign. I wonder if they can develop new aircraft, maps, and a dynamic campaign?

Probably way beyond their scope.

Played it a couple of months, but for a bomber pilot a waste of time.
De-installed it and reinstalled 1946 plus patches, more enjoyable.

Was in any case the last time I pre ordered a game!
First when reports are good will the money come on the table.
