well after reading almost all 50 something pages of this thread, i cant wait to buy the game, spend some time on single player and get right into this battle for europe.

edal, dont give up just yet. it just sounds like you got a false start at the gates. tighten up the ship a bit, drop the inactive players, modify the rules a bit and tweak whatever needs tweaking and off to the races.

question though: when are you guys mostly on? i'm gmt +4 so i'm kind of worried that i wont catch most of you on the psn.

if you're still thinking about hanging on to this idea, just consider me as reserves until i get my wings. :) shouldnt be long though.

Dont worry about your timezone.. our community is worldwide (although there does seem to be an abundance of Brits for some reason).
GMT+4 is the US East coast right? There are loads of North American players here, so you'll be able to hook up with them easy enough. Plus, a lot of us Brits and Europeans play till quite late, so you'll probably run into us too. Just remember to add as many players from here to your friends list as you can, when you get a copy of the game.

And good luck with the wife. I bought my missus a Nintendo DS for Christmas, and thats kept her quite happy. buying one for your wife could be a good investment!

Anyway, hopefully this tournament will carry on, as its what we need to galvanise the online community. I guess we'll see what happens this week!

About Strike Mode:

I read that the ground targets are easier to destroy then what I expected.
* I tested this with a B-17G some time ago, and since I was able to destroy only 2 targets with about 4 loads of bombs (all bombs were direct hit), that is why I decided that destroying 4 targets would be fair. However, I read that with a single B-17 pass the USSR was able to destroy 5 ground targets??
* can anyone confirm this??? I may need to change these settings.

i have destroyed all targets in less than 12min.
our british comrades weren't not able to shoot me down BEFORE i dropped the bombs.
because, im hiding in the clouds till i reached the target.
only in the landing approaches they got me. or if im standing on the ground, to make the screenshot.
damn, haitch, that was close... ^^
4 attempts later, all enemy tickets and 12 ground targets were gone.
seems to be very unfair. :(

that the b17 will destroy the targets is pretty much a foregone conclusion. It would be fair enough to set it back to 10 and make each worth 50.
