It's made from first video, at 3:14. (had to hit pause several times to hit that frame)

I assume that the movie makers just had mid-air collision turned off there. We know (because we were told) that they didn't use anything like full switch, so I am not going to assume that's a bug but instead the difficulty setting.

Well, my dad becomes 76 this year, and is an eager IL-2 player. He gets tired quickly though. And I create missions for him that are quite simple, typically Spit versus Ju 52.

Problem, though, that an ace who was maybe 23 years old in 1945 is 89 by now. And that is quite old.

Someone who would have joined the RAF at the age of 18 in 1940 would have been 79 years old when IL2 was released in november 2001. The probability is low to have such a guy playing IL2 but it's still possible to find aces of some more recent wars like Corea or Vietnam who could give us a good appréciation of IL2 as they also fought with canons at subsonic speeds.

I still remember the quote of a war pilot about the transition between propeller fighters and jets: "If you can fly at 1000 km/h and if your opponent is also able to do it, what is the difference ? Zero.

That makes me think that the serie SOW will also model the Corea war with Migs vs Sabres ;)
