hey TRK just finished adding friends to my list, encountered a problem - i have to many friends :S (never thoguth it'd be a problem :P) so i added all up to Echo, the rest of my flight (Hotel) and the main members i have seen on the forums.

i was talking to Spitfire and decided to delete the less active members once the game is out

I can't help with how many friends you currently have so this is fine. As we don't know how many people in our Squadron will end up even getting the game.

I was trying to keep things down to a minimum, anyway finished my signature and requested to join V.A.S.

Just arrived Thrustmaster Hotas X (sounds like a rude toy!) nice bit of kit been flying RC planes for a while and when I found out you couldn't change the setup on the PS3 pad I had to look for something else.

I haven't had a flight simm before mainly bike and car games, so plenty of late nights to catch up then!

...if only I could get my son off COD online I think I would stand a chance.

and i suggest downloading GIMP, its a great tool and is fairly simple to get used to (lots of tutorials too)

You have to have a pretty decent size picture with good resolution and then crop it down to 450X150 this size works good.

Love the new sig, it looks fantastic.

Hey guys was playing demo all last night and i love it. i need help though, i can play the spitfire mission well on real and arcade and i got about 6 kills on sim (without stick :O) i got 3 He-111s 2 Ju-87s (correct??) and one Bf109 (i know lucky huh??). i also managed to land back on the airstrip :D

but the P-50 mission seemed incredibly hard and i almost constantly went into spins on both realitic and sim. even when i just tried to turn. And on arcade i found it hard to hit the train bit too...

So, any explanation? is it just the P-50 being a b*tch to fly, or is it just chance. Any tips would be greatly appreciated :)

Also two more things - Flaps? What difference does it make and when should i use each setting? And secondly, what happened to the extra plane for the PS3 demo?? or did i get the wrong idea and it was an extra plane for the full game??

yeah its true i got the same problem the p-51 is so hard to fly with i think the problem is that in the p-51 mission you fly very low and in the spit lvl you fly on a high altitude so you can do more manouvres in sim mode i got 8 he111 3 ju-87 and 2 me109's i managed to lan in the fields haha was big fun

ghilli guy (did i spell it right?) turn down sensitivity and yes the P51 is hard to fly

I've been flying with the AV8R and have stalled a few times in the P-51 but I am able to pull out pretty quickly, but I haven't messed with the sensitivity any yet.

I'm still using pad. Stick is next thing to buy.

Sounds like me! I haven't played a flight game in a VERY long time, but discovered that in the decent portion of a wide loop seems like a great time to let loose the rockets. On Dover the planes just crumble on arcade so now I'm playing on Realstic. Big difference.

Hay Ghillie the sig looks nice but its not animating. Put this into your sig it should work then.

hi guys. happy to see all the activity on this tread. i see you all been busy with the demo. i only finished the demo on arcade, next up is realistic. arcade was very easy (compared to battlefield 1943 flighing air superiority), but i don't know what to expect from realistic and sim. is the flying (controls) just harder or are the enemies also stronger? oh, and to all new members welkom, and ghillie extra welkom to hotel flight.

i am getting jealous!!! i am on vacation in the Caribbean and i dont have my ps3 so i cant play the demo! AAAAHHHHH. then again i am in the Caribbean?!?!?! haha cant wait to play with you guys

The flying is more difficult, but the enemies are also more challenging. On arcade I could easily take down He-111's with 2-3 hits(almost seems that one bullet is capable of shearing of a wing), but on Realistic and Sim, it takes(me) alot more. Oddly enough, I found flying hardest on Realistic, and landing hardest on Arcade(when you want to slow down, boy you slow down FAST), but was able to land a few times on Sim, I even crash landed 3 times. (Although they all happened will trying to land my undamaged spitifre) But damn, landing is hard.

when turning even in arcade it feels like im flying an A380 in an arcade game which im used to (i didn't even fly till i played blazing angels) its so slow and im not used to it

Has anyone been able to compare the flight dynamics between the PS pad and the Thrustmaster HOTAS on the demo. A short review of kinds would help some us decide if it's really worth the investment, including myself.

Yay, as of yesterday I'm back in business.

Sony really came trough as they replaced my broken ps3 in an amazing 5 working days. Praise to sony for that:grin:

So that gives me the change to finally check out the demo and do all of my pre-flight checks for when the game ships;)
