Sadly I've been having to make do with messing around with other peoples Screens..
If this is frowned upon let me know! Both shots taken by Kristorf, I was just seeing if I could recreate depth of field.. http://i822.photobucket.com/albums/z...trone/DOF1.jpg http://i822.photobucket.com/albums/z...trone/DOF2.jpg |

I have Not touched a normal map. All ive done is changed some specular textures visually, and specular values in a config file only. that config is the combined material.mma file. all the specular textures are in the same folder. then the post processing is as ive already explained. |
Nice work gents
|
Excellent
Ali Fish - love that image - reminds me of posters of the spit.
@ataros - I'll try and recreate that shot tonight. Very iconic indeed. @redroach - just followed a simple tutorial online but the best part is I recorded it as an action in photoshop which allows me to batch process most of it - I can then go back and tweak specific shots depending on the composition. I'll post detailed instructions in a bit - the link to the tutorial is on my home computer. |

I actually though you just linked a different wartime photo, had to do a double-take to realize it's from the sim :-P

@the bomber-over-london pic above me: Very nice, I also had to look twice... |
Here's my attempt
Not sure how the original was exposed, what type of film, day of time, etc but here's a rough attempt.

lancer, have a little look-see at the pic on the previous page... your picture with the other pic's post-processing could be awesome as well. The previous one is pretty fascinating, imo ^-^

Lancer- according to this link the picture was taken at 6.48pm on 7th October 1940.
http://ww2today.com/7th-september-19...tz-hits-london I've also seen it noted that it was taken at 5pm. I like your effort but it needs more shadow highlights to match the later time of day. |
I still wonder why we dont have post saturation option in video settings (or at least in config file)....
|
Well done people, some lovely images :)
Here's some of my attempts http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/picture...&pictureid=724 http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/picture...&pictureid=726 http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/picture...&pictureid=725 |
yeah, unless the photographing plane has got a VERY strong flashlight, there should've been at least some sunlight, as the plane is partly lit from above. And the shadows would correspond to early evening imo.
Also, maybe you should zoom in a little more on the plane. In the original, both wings 'end over the thames', perspectivically. If you can do that in the first place... I for my part have got certain issues with zooming which I've not figured out (or bothered with) yet :) edit: @chicomick wow, very, very nice, especially the first pic. I think you hit the sweet spot where the sim is nearly indistinguishable to reality on that 'photo'. The cloud shadows add quite a lot on this, imo :) Now we can create alternate history and sell it to historians! They certainly would give a lot for a photo which shows that first german bomber to hit the london docks! |
fantastic work folks !

|
wowzers ! the direction you guys are taking this is just excellent.

Bloody nice skins'again!!'Kristof,.....are you uploading these anywhere,or are you just teasing us,lol.
|
Beautiful skins as always Kristoff, if only you flew for the dark side :)
|
Can someone explain to me why my screenies are now .bmp and not .jpg as they used to be? Is there a way of changing it back to jpeg? I actually didn't mind the Steam screenshot manager thing but that stopped working ages ago and they were always jpegs. I know .bmps are better quality but file sizes are huge and jpeg quality is good enough.
Any suggestions appreciated :) |

You didn't make sure that the engine cover latches were secure on your pre flight check?.. lol!

My current project, civil versions of the Bf 108.
This is the second paintscheme, which is way more difficult to get right, cause 1C modelers are back to form when it comes to messing up the mapping. It is no Spit IX, but definitely worthy of some corrections. Anyway, I am still tracing mapping locations on the texture as there is no template or void available for the Bf 108. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../CLoD/1083.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../CLoD/1081.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../CLoD/1082.jpg Screenshots provided by Kristof. |

Update on D-IPLO.
Still struggling with the inner cockpit framing... I curse whoever mapped this... http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...606_011103.jpg http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...606_011137.jpg http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...606_011244.jpg http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...606_011316.jpg |
is that the real colour for D IPLO ?
|
Yes, most private Bf 108s were painted in RLM24. Same for D-IPLO.

Pretty little bird, are there still any flying today?
|
Quote:
http://i.imgur.com/Egj9Kl.jpg anyway the artwork & detail on this plane is shocking. well below par of the spit or 109. some of these non flyables need a serious makeover. |

RLM24 - I'm not trying to nit- pick, and I don't know much about those colours. But for accuracy's sake neither of those posted look like these:
http://www.art-paints.com/Paints/Ena...lue-RLM-24.gif http://www.modelcars.com/model-kits/...blue-rlm24.jpg |
indeed. i took mine from here, completely different. a bad source. http://rhorta.home.xs4all.nl/jgrlm.htm that colour you posted seems correct.
