We get the nice pictures at this stage because they are easy to show - we can see directly these aspects of the game. How is Oleg supposed to SHOW US features such as flight models or in-depth details of the engine? No way this can be done until advanced features are in place and video of them can be released. (even then we won't know anything much about the flight models until we get to try them out ourselves)

The only alternative is wordy descriptions of up-coming features; something that Oleg has given us in interviews and on these forum pages.

They aren't mutually exclusive! Just happens that one is easy to show with simple screenshots. We know nothing about the state of FMs / engine, but most of us don't jump to negative conclusions on basis of NO evidence.

You do not understand my comment. I have no evidences and i did not say fm ll be porked. I said just the opposite. I expect OLEG TEAM will concentrate in better fms and engine. And yes, they are not muttualy exclusive. I only said people do not worry to much about graphics, the actual ones Oleg presented are great.

I say this cause there are some complaining about clouds textures, planes textures bla bla bla... To me this screenshots Oleg showed are great even it is WIP or not.

Part of your misuderstanding must be due my bad english. Sorry :o

Thanks again, Oleg, for another update.
Everything is looking very good.

clouds are probably the most important visual aspect of a flight sim. Sorry but graphics and flight model are equally important to me

And Oleg if your about , are we going to see aircraft bouncing on take off and landings on grass strips and to go with that - squishy tires ?

S!

Nice shots again. The weathering is WIP I think? It looks a bit like a gaggle of kids had been slapping their muddy hands on the plane's exterior. If I compare it to those planes we have at work (yes prop planes too, not only jets) the most likely places with tear & wear are the prop edges, areas behind exhaust pipe getting smoldered, edges of hatches/access doors having chipped paint, dirtier paint and chipped paint where landing gear throws up dust, streaks of oil etc. from drain holes, leading edges having chipped paint etc. So IMO the weathering is a bit strange as it has no pattern in on the Spit, more like slapped on the plane.

But this is for sure WIP :) Just observations and nice to see SoW shape up very nicely. Thank you for the update.

Hi All,

The photos Major_Setback posted look like they came from my thread over at SimHQ:

http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.ph...ml#Post2682133

Be aware that I have worked on them in PhotoShop. The original colours are different. You can download the original pics for free now that Google have put all (?) the life archive on the net. They do take a bit of finding though (can't remember my search terms - sorry). The originals are also larger. I have re-sized them to fit my SimHQ thread. There is one more colour pic of a Spit from the same photo shoot. It is also in the SimHQ thread. Hope you enjoy the read!

Edit: here are the original file names from when I downloaded these pics from the Life archive:

If anybody finds any more from this series please let me know.

RedToo.

I took them from another site actually, I can't remember which one..they must have taken the links from simHQ.
Sorry for stealing them.

I hope you won't mind if I reproduce the third one from the series here.

No problem MS. Just found the title and photographer of the Life shoot:

Daylight Fighter Sweep by William Vandivert

Off to continue searching!
