Your right it was no 'one person' but If you go back a year or so and read the posts you'll see that Maddox Games and 1C were placed under quite a significant amount of pressure from the community to release the game in whatever state it was in.

Things have quietend down round hear since the headdy days of early March 20-11! ;)

Community pressure would never make a developer release a game early they aren't that stupid. What would make them release it earlier is revenue. Why would you release a game that was half done due to community pressure? That wouldn't make any sense at all and would be bad for business on your part.

Maybe people have a short memory or they simply weren't around at the time, but i distinctly remember several members of this forum who were constantly asking for an end to development and a release.

Funny thing is, some of them were among the group of people who then complained the loudest because it was unfinished :-P

Yes Sir, I will not misbehave if there is no patch. May I be excused. I would like to go to the toilet. :)

Just some preemptive fire extinguishing measures, that's all. If one knows in advance that one will get one's hand slapped, then one is more likely to keep said hand out of the proverbial cookie jar :-P

Based on previous weeks, generally B6 has already let us know what is happening, generally when the update is late, either it isnt happening (which B6 is usually pretty good about telling us) or its a large update (lots of screenies) or a patch will be included...

Yeah, I agree with this, if there was any pressure, it was from the publisher or their own pocketbooks....

Let's hope so mate. It's now Saturday here but I'm still hoping for the Friday update/patch.
Does that make sense?

if 1c/MG are still working on patches (albeit very slowly) and are also working on a sequel (which process has to address most CoD faults/complaints at the same time) then it means the ship is still going forward, and we have hope of a fixed/working product at the end of this process. at least somebody is doing SOMETHING to fix it and produce a working product. since they cant row faster then they currently are (with their limited team), constantly throwing beer cans and insults at them is rather counter productive.

one thing many people here seem to forget is that there are so many current problems in CoD exactly because it was such an ambitious project, and it is the depth and complexity of the game and gfx engine at the heart of the sim that is creating these multiple problems. personally i am happier that they overshot their mark with great ambition, rather then have them produce some dumbded down and limited product (which would have been easier to make).

in the other camp we have the same small clique of whiners and haters (and the odd new lost spotty faced tween who wonders in) who seem to believe that yelling loudly or constantly whining will magically solve things, and those same people are NOT seen providing constructive feedback in bug report threads or participation in reasoned debated to try and improve things.

the one aspect that blame can be correctly given to luthiers team, even if we know that they have limited resources and people, is that there isnt some hierarchy in priority bug fixes being addressed that deal with gameplay bugs that can be relatively easily fixed (and which would significantly reduce the volume of complaints), eg the "lack of COOP" issue, AI team commands, some specific control/instrument issues in some planes, lack of AI ground activity at airfields, allow some basic campaign function offline/online etc..

I would like to nominate this post for the post of the year award, as in..

Agreed 100% spot on!

But it wasn't done by you mate, so it can't be 100% spot on. You should complain with 77 posts. That will get you to the 2000 number.
