This banter was entertaining the first 300 times I saw it....

Guys just because you disagree with someones viewpoint doesnt give you the right to be abusive. If this continues the thread will be deleted.

yes but you need to look at the releases from IL2 Sturmovik back in 2001 and how long that took to get better.
I think it took 6 years to get at the level of what it is today.

While I have a wait and see attitude and thus far am still willing to drop some of my hard earned $$ on this product... I have to disagree with this.. IL2 1.02v .. was a pretty decent well rounded product in 2002.. When FB came out after the first few patches it was a decent product.. It was certainly not as fleshed out as it is now.. but it held it's own against anything else on the market.. I think muchy of the disappointment with this was that given the long wait .. don't forget.. we all sat at UBI for what ... 5+ years from the time we first got wind of BoB..? When it came out everyone expected it to be more... functional.. especially considering that the theater was sop limited.. and it wasn't.. but time will indeed tell.. and I have not written off 1C yet.. but I do have a raised eyebrow..

So yes its going to be a hard wait for a lot of you, waiting. patiently is the key..

Luthier will definitely "MAKE A NAME FOR HIMSELF WITH THIS NEW FLIGHT SIM EXPERIENCE."

I bought the first one for £30/35? ages ago - never really had any gameplay out of it. But I WILL buy the sequel /upgrade. I think most people on here will want to stick with it and will pay up - despite, or possibly because of all the trauma - in order to get to a place where the sim is where it's meant to be. There is, undeniably, a lot of potential.

Didn't you get booted for using one of those names? ;)

While I don'y quite share the same optomism as you Mastiff, I do hope Luthier and crew can be as successful with CoD/BoM as IL2/FB/1946 was. I bought IL2 in Dec of 2002 and I had nary an issue with the fundamental playability of IL2. I can't say the same with CoD - no matter how much effort was poured into the creation. Oh yes, there are some fantastic inprovement and I know they are light years ahead of what IL2 offered, but there are to many issues marring the surface to really appreciate the good things of CoD.

I'll once again give the benefit of doubt to the development team. The publishers and financial backers seem confident enough in the project to continue it...... BUT I will look at the development updates with a more critical eye. Being from the west, I imagine the eastern market will receive first dibs on BoM and their opinions will weigh in my decision.

Yet, I'll still hope for the best - a sim on par AND even better than IL2. Time will tell.

I agree the investors must see something some of us aren't seeing to continue to pay for the development. Of course they have to continue support for the development for any chance to get a return on their investment. But when do you stop throwing good money after bad, I'm just glad its not my money, as this genre has a low monitary upside. Personally I still see alot of potential especially in the FMB and very happy the investors are staying the course.
