I remember it was said in one of the friday updates that it was going to be over or around 1gb in size, but when we did get the beta patch it was only 250 or so MB. But it seems people are still having the same problems that the re-write was supposed to fix are still being experienced. Any idea's why the re-write was alot smaller than initially suggested? or is it 1GB across multiple patches?

The size of the patch is largely irrelevant. As the rewrite is the engine, not the textures and models, there is not going to be a massive size to them. The largest part of the update is probably sounds files and images. The engine itself does not include all the images and models, so doesn't need to be multiple GBs large.

I've seen an Ilya comment in the bugtrack saying that one of the issue would not be dealt with (don't remember which one) but we could imagine that it was because the pilot would be drunk or something like that ....
That's not serious job, sorry.
They made things worse that it was with the FM of Spit II.

In my opinion, what they need to do now is take rest, then wake up and get things seriously dealt with.

You may forgot it's more than a year old software now.

I know very nicely designed aircrafts which were designed is less than CoD since it's out.

While I patiently wait for CLoD to become better, I'm over in DCS' KA-50. You want a learningcurve that's absolutely vicious and flying that's completely unforgiving? The Black Shark will give you that, and more.
I talked about X-plane if you followed the youtube link. Nothing else.

No one can disagree this game is far from finished and polished, in every area there are issues. It's just close (or not too far) from being good.

By the way if you're answering then don't get me wrong, I really love CoD as it is supposed to be ... and I'll be an active fan & pilot, I just want to be sure that they do work & finish it, soon or later, sooner the better.

I was comparing to other WW2 combat titles which is the only period I am interested in. IL946 is a great SIM, particularly for SP fans and scores 10 out of 10 but I personally don't like the MP set up and different versions of the game required, mod packs, etc. The cockpits look very dated in comparison to CloD but I like them both for what they are excellent at.

I've got low fps -> You must upgrade your hardware!

I've got new hardware but still stutters due to tree -> Obviously, you have to turn off the tree!

I've got new hardware, turn off the tree but clouds cause drop in fps -> But it is ok, it is a flight sim, nor a console game!

IMHO they are excuses. I think that Clod community is still alive becouse we all remember the great works that Maddox did with IL-2 during the last 10 years. If IL-2 was produced by "XYZ software", maybe it would be ignored.

Plus the devs already included all the bugs were gonna be dealing with for the next ten years..

Now thats forward thinking, let us know what won't work for the next few years then turn things off till they do, brilliant plan.

Or is there some conspiracy with hardware companies so as we all upgrade constantly (said tongue in cheek just in case some sad sacks and the usual suspects think I'm being serious.. )
