Don't you buy stuff made by the same poor slaves you mentioned, in fact feeding that industry?

Steve Jobs was a true innovator, a genius that introduced a new approach to IT that others copied but struggled to deliver. He was also a human being, so surely he wasn't perfect, but his visionary approach inspired a technology leap that can't be dismissed as "little toys", people that do that are like the bigots who laughed at Montgolfier or Wright brothers.

If you understand this then you understand what his loss means, otherwise there's really no point. Whichever the case, have some respect and go post somewhere else.

Maybe a true innovator, and mabye a genius but for sure a misanthropic capitalist ! I can't pay humage to people who materialize their "visionary approach" on the back of other people and mother nature. Yesterday many humans died, one of them was Steve Jobs.

Rest in piece Steve !

P.S.: A true innovator........ ;)

Sammi79 hit the nail on the head!

Steve is in the 0.1% of the richest people in the world and has given nothing back. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are real innovators who have pledged to give billions of dollars they do not need to help make the world a better place.

As I mentioned before, it's probably a tough time for his family and friends (real ones that is). Was he innovative? For sure! Nobody had come up with the idea for selling computers/home electronics for at least twice as much as their competitors before.

Seriously though, Apple has always overcharged for their products but at least in the 90's when I bought my PowerMac G3 (beige) for 1800€ (without a monitor) one could at least say that the hardware/software was proprietary. Now the hardware is the same as any other run of the mill PC but they are still overcharging for it, no wonder they're making boatloads of money. The macs these days are over-priced PC's with inferior hardware and Linux as OS, well built? yes! Worth the price tag? IMO never.

i guess using that same logic we should respect hitler too, i mean beyond the horrible immoral things that he did (including the use of salve labor) he did good innovative things for germany and good technological advancements came from them as well...o wait thats not how it works....so i guess hitlers immoral evil things that he had done are tempered by the good he had done...wow great...its like this everytime someone dies everyone gets all sad and ignores the bad, immoral things that they have done, and anyone who rightly brings such things up are 'disrespectful' ....what a joke....steve jobs is just another moron who happened to die that day...why dont you shed a tear for the children who were killed, not some filthy rich Piece of crap hypocrite (im talking about steve jobs)....

yes i gues speople who speak out against those who use slavery is creepy...

maybe you should be a slave and see how good it is, maybe when you figure out that slavery is not good, maybe then you will figure it out...well you already seem to be a slave since you cant seem to think for yourself and you seem to think that using slave labor is normal, or acceptable....why dont you go to M4T where the retards there seem to think that using slavery is acceptable and does not reflect on steve jobs....

how is exposing and speaking out against slavery "homemade morality'...i guess the northern states were wrong to oppose the south and its policy of enslaving other men....i guess the south was right in defend its "right' to own slaves....what a joke...go learn some history maybe then you will figure out why slavery is bad....1 because it is not in the spirit of freedom and 2 because it ruins economies, and takes away jobs from people who would other wise receive payment for said job.....i mean i guess having a business where suicide is a growing problem is a noble thing...i guess it has nothing to do with the conditions you impose on your workers....

seriously you people are the joke...keep revering these men who used slavery to acquire their wealth...one day when you are the slave you wont be so excited about it....but i guess cuz this is happening in china it dosent matter or is ok....out of sight out of mind eh....talk about small minded...you people are garbage....

I must disagree here. There is not one technological idea or gui system created by apple that can claim to be original. They copied others in the first place. Steve Jobbs primary skill was marketeering, not 'innovation' as you put it. When Bill Gates goes, people will have real reason to be sympathetic, particularly certain charities etc... So sad as it is when anyone passes before their time, what was so great about this man? the fact that he managed to create an elitist market for plums who pay the ridiculous inflated price believing they have something better or more original than any other equatable competing product, because they paid 3 times as much for it? Very clever yes, admirable, I don't think so.

..seriously?! Do you know how many US patents Jobs owned as inventor of co-inventor? More than 300. Who do you think your beloved Gates stole his concepts and ideas from?!

It's shocking to see how you really believe in the philanthropic machine set up by Gates, who's a $59 billion man, as opposed to Jobs, who was "only" $8 billion, and according to many sources did a lot of charity donations without the glam of Gates and his wife..

Uh and regarding all the accusations of slave labour, welcome to the world of capitalism.. Do you really think they had an agenda for slave labour, or that Microsoft didn't receive similar allegations?

You wise guys remind me of this genius here:

Every idiot is capable of speaking against slavery (as you well show here), but unless you live on a mountain feeding yourself with berries you do boost the "slavery market" 90% of the times you buy something with "Made in China" written on it.

..has anybody said we're pro-slavery? If thinking of Steve Jobs as a genius and innovator does, the same principle applies for all the Made in China stuff you buy.

hey genius, you're using a PC that is running on software developed by Microsoft (who also has allegations of slavery) and which most components are made in China..

Go troll somewhere else.

All these anti Apple hipsters make me laugh. Without Apple , you would just have vanilla phones and boring tablets. Apple changed the way we do things and set the standard on how things look.

By the way , if you think you are cool by not owning a Apple product but have an Andriod phone you have another thing coming. An Andriod phone with google knows more about you then you know about yourself.
