Will IL-2 COd ever be fixed?

Are we at the point now where IL-2 COD is not fixable? We've seen some patches but so far the perfomance is still a big problem. Should we come to the realization of IL-2 COD will never work better than it does now? Should we just wait for the next version that uses a completely new engine?? For instance, look at Microsoft Flight Simulator---this engine will never perform well no matter how much HW you throw at it!! It's all in the "Engine". No matter what, the IL-2 series will always have my loyalty and i'll hang in there for the long run!

Just Saying....

performance is not a problem for me, with the system in my signature, IL2CoD plays perfectly well, without any kind of microstutters, with everything on max.

Alternatively, make every prediction under the sun as you're bound to get a few right :D

I'm always been atheist but now I'm worship the oak in front of my house because of you my friend.

Tree is always right.

I'm starting here a new cult, the "Treeology".

Tree, the Martyr of the Banana Board. He was banned for us. Pray for him.

Nah, code can be rewritten. The sound is being rewritten at the moment. It may be a painful process, but it can be done if required.
Whatever add-on's we see will use the same engine as Clod.

With Ilya's post, particularly:
'4. We do not at this time have anyone doing community relations, which means we spend less time than we’d like to interacting with you, or rather, providing answers to your questions. We are up on these boards every day reading what you have to say, and it does often drive our design decisions and priorities.'
I think we see that he is officially signing off as public relations liasion.

No more weekly updates, probably just posts introducing new patches and other 'official communications.'

Whether this is wise or not who knows. As others have stated, there are a steady stream of complaints here when he posts and when he doesn't.

I do know from personal experience that dealing with 'customer service' issues takes a special kind of patience and it can be very distracting from other more essential tasks, which in his case are continuing to lead the efforts to fix and develop the game.
