Team Battle tourney! Yes!

When this tourney was over, I was gonna suggest a pairs tourney. But the pairs are determined from the results of this one. So the best would be paired with the worst, and 2nd place paired with 2nd from bottom and so on...

Should keep things interesting, because as others have also noticed, being massively out-matched is zero fun, and we're all here to have fun (I think).

The problem with sim is that so few people play it that you rarely get a group playing at the same time so you always end up one on one. Played on Saturday night and the only person I could get to play was subarugaz and he caned me.

I'll still play sim but it has become an elite world and I'm just target practice!

Hello miatar, during that match on saturday you should have messaged me to let me know you wanted to develop your skills on simulator, i would be more than willing to help you get into the whole simulator flying business.

e.g. i fly around without shooting you and you just use me as target practice
(that goes to everyone who thinks they are in need of improvement)

:O And what makes you think that?!?!?! What is this "Fun" you speak of? XD

I understand the frustration that some of you guys may experience from this 1 vs 1 tournament. These matches may affect your morale if your opponent is too skillful for you, but when both participants are at the same level, then the matches really turn into excitement and slippery hands. This tournament's purpose was to answer the question "who is the best virtual pilot out there?" I guarantee that the quarterfinals will be VERY competitive for all who qualify and get that far.

I already mentioned that I was working on another project for you PS3 SIM guys, this new project will be BIG in terms of its complexity, and enjoyable for SIM players of all levels. I have it all figured out, but Im waiting for the Patch to see how well it will work and how many more people it will attract. You guys have been great and the good communication with each other has really made this tournament flow smoothly.

*my goal in the possible next tournament will be to bring out this games true potential (something like what the il2 1946 for pc offers). An opportunity to develop tactics, fly in formation, and be victorious as a unit. I expect mature, serious SIM players. I will have a fair ranking system that concentrates on participation as well as skill. With the introduction of the upcoming inter-game chating option you will be able to talk to your flight group only (even if there is only 6 members of your team online at the time, you can have 2 groups of 3 or 3 pairs). This competition will include invading enemy territory (STRIKE), and capturing it (CAPTURE THE AIRFIELD). "CLASH OF THE CONTINENTS" will be a tournament of 2 teams and the objective will be to conquer Europe (series of maps). Tournament will end if a team conquers all maps or if a team runs out resources or manpower. This is planned for January, and I will explain with more detail until then.

edal, i highly recommend you change your username to one of the following as soon as possible:

A. the professor
B. the mad scientist
C. the sim sage
D. doctor edal... next!

you're an absolute madman with these ideas. while i've thought of similar things, i merely say to myself, "that would be cool." you, on the other hand, take action.

i'd like to visit your lab to see what other experiments you have cooking. i'll bring my lab coat.

lol, thanks for the compliments, It would be great to see others implementing these ideas to the Arcade or realistic levels, or even to the Xbox 360 console, so if anyone reads this feel free to adopt my ideas, rules, or anything that you may find useful.

*** I want to THANK the "Rest of EUROPE" group, you guys always demonstrate efficacy and efficiency in completing your matches ahead of the due date; 4 days earlier to be exact. (makes me wonder, is this tournament taking longer than it needs to? I really hope that those participants waiting until the last day to complete their matches really have better things to do or use this time wisely, example: to practice) ***

Here's one! I've been pure cannon fodder this tournament. I really feel I'm missing something, cause many times I get shot down in the most embarrassing way, without knowing exactly where the bullets come from.
And watching how people perform manoeuvres and stunts, getting and staying on my six without apparent effort.
I collected some really good advices and also learnt something during these dogfights, but still I'm no match.

@Edal: sorry mate I couldn't go online and play with macademic, been really busy with some uni stuff this week.

ps. I agree with miatar being target practice is not any fun, but still I want to thank Edal, he's done a great job :)

I know I'm too late for this tourney, but in the coming weeks I'd like to get up to speed with anyone online for simulation training. I've returned to this game after hearing that a PS3 patch is getting closer - looking forward to flying in the skies with all of you!
