Enhancement
 
With the help of Haggard Games finally I can adapt models from mission#2 and mission#6 to MoTmod.
Now all major models from DtS missions uses MoT-skeleton and animations!

To play this mod you'll need the resourses (*.vfs) from both games. At least MoT should be installed.

Thanks. MoTmod 1.00 will contain skins from DtS/MoT only. Additional skins will be added later (as a patch) with the "Jagdpanther" mission.

The main idea of the mod is adaptation of DtS missions to MoT engine.
If you don't have DtS and don't want to find it - there are no sense to install mod for you (only if you want to see MoT missions without posteffects and cinematics).

MoTmod isn't compatible with AHO's mod. But you can adapt it yourself. It's not difficult because there are no new sounds and textures in version 1.00. Scripts can me merged with WinMerge. SWDs and other binaries - with any hex-editor.

In "Paycheck", Wenk Bartels doesn't seem to be doing anything. I got rid of AHO's tinkering with the SchnapsPoisonTrigger.lua, but he still does nothing. Also, there are supposed to be three soldiers in front of the church at the beginning of the level, but there's only one.

It looks good so far, nice work. However, I had a problem, it crashed as soon as I passed the first level. Also, I was wondering, would it be possible or do you plan to, implement the "yellow status" guards present in MoT? The way the guards respond to a suspicious disguise in MoT just seems more realistic than in DtS. I should probably note that I played MoT first, so I'm a bit biased toward favoring the way MoT handles over the original.

I have played all of the DtS missions on the MoT engine, and there are some things I want to point out:
  • Because Ivan Melnik in White Head is an edited model of Volkov, both Volkov himself and the traitor in Hotel (who is also an edited Volkov model) speak German among Brits. I'm currently trying to figure out how to make all three "Volkovs" speak Russian rather than German (but Melnik will still speak German to the waiter and the guard outside his room).
  • Because the male US scientists in Project Y are reused in Dora, they have British dialogue among Americans. Female scientists don't have this problem.
  • Because some of the female civilians in Embassy are reused in Shefferd, they have American dialogue among Brits. Not every woman in Embassy is affected by this problem, though.

Soldiers don't use heels in salute (legs don't move). So, no sense to add this sound.

Why Russain? Embassy's and Hotel's traitor speaks with english people, so he must use English.
WhiteHead's traitor speaks with germans, so he must use Deutsch.
Will be fixed in the first patch.

MoTmod is based on the russian DtS release 1.1 and russian MoT release 1.0.
I spent too much time to adapt DtS SWD files to MoT and I'm not planning to use SWDs from another releases.

BUT! I'm agree that three soldiers are better than one, because single soldier == enemy uniform without problem. And it's much more difficult to kill 3 soldiers silently. So, I'll try to copy additional 2 soldiers from the english SWD. But not now, it will be later.

I'm planning to use NSIS installer for the later versions of MoTmod. But it's a lowest priority for me. Now MoTmod Team works on "Jagdpanther" :)

But thanks anyway. It will be nice if you provide some info about your installer type, about vfs unpacking, etc.

Our installers are totally automated...for example the DtS HUN installer can identify the version of installed game and the place where's been installed the game...if russian then it can patch to 1.1, then unpack the vfs' and overwrite the needed files with translated ones...if english then copy the uncensored textures too...etc...I gave you links private...I hope our programmers have some free time and can help us to make an automatic MoT installer in English or in Russian of course. :)

I just discovered, just as we talked before: In level paycheck, there
is only one soldier in front of the church and also when I go near to him
the game crashed...

But the rest worked fine for me :)

I tested to implement German lang to your mod, but I'Ve overwritten some files so I could not acess DtS' mission.

I've been making an Enhancement Addon for MoT before forlik released his mod, and now I decided to expand it and make an Enhancement Addon for MoTMod 1.0.

Here's what I've done:
  • I modified all the level LUAs with louder music, as well as proof reading.
  • I replaced muz3_ger_loop with muz_ger_1 (Lebe wohl, du kleine Monika).
  • I replaced muz4_ger_loop with muz_ger_7.
  • I replaced muz_ger_6 with muz2_ger_loop (Panzerlied) - the former was basically a slower version of muz_ger_7 (Panzer Rollen in Afrika).
  • I replaced some of the German voice files with the ones from AHO's DtS Enhancement Addon.
  • I added the heartbeat and breathing when Strogov moves while crawling from AHO's DtS Enhancement Addon.
  • I replaced some of the British voice files with ones from Hitman: Contracts.
  • I replaced some of the American voice files with ones from Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive.
  • I replaced some textures with better ones courtesy of AHO.
  • All the DtS levels have loading screens from AHO's mod.
  • Made a bugfix to the ai.shadvs file - Americans use mostly British voice files when you get into a fight with them.

Other things that need to be done:
  • Better loading screens in MoT missions.
  • Need sound files from Hitman: Blood Money.
  • Need to figure out how to replace the numeral "8" in "Eight Snipers" with the word "Eight" in the main menu.

I've explained the installation procedure on the site (with detailed screens). I don't know how to make this more detailed. Try to re-unpack the VFSs and reinstall the mod (step by step!). If you don't understand step#2 - try to move MoT data to DtS data with file replacing.

The mod is very good. The main character looks better. But there is only one thing I don't like. That is the yellow status of the enemy soldiers isn't introduced in this mod. I found MOT much easier to complete than DTS. The yellow status of the enemy actually helped realism (in my opinion). But still, keep up the good work!

I'm still waiting for hykao to give me the shadvs2txt and txt2shadvs programs. There are a couple more problems:
  • The diplomat in Hotel doesn't seem to speak.
  • Lightning's LUA file has hints when putting on certain clothes, but they don't seem to appear in-game, especially on Easy difficulty. What could be wrong?

About hints in "Lightning", try to add these parts of code to activate messaging:

1. Add a new action handler to Level.OnLoaded():

"Jagdpanther" will not have a minor prefix like X.0X. It will be MoTmod 1.1 or even MoTmod 2.0 (depends on updates quantity).

Voice over is possible. You just have to edit the briefing.shadvs

About Jagdpanther, would the new uniforms be in other missions as well, even those in MoT?

Have you changed constant in strings.shadvs? This may affects to all doors in the game!

No, in "Jagdpanther" only. Perhaps we'll publish reworked training mission together with "Jagdpanther", but I can't guarantee it now.

This interaction is in Renegades' LUA file, so it doesn't affect every door. It's possible to lock Shestakov in the sauna.

PS. Speaking of the LUA file for Renegades, I also changed one of the failed mission texts, from "A SOVIET MAN WAS KILLED" to "A SOVIET CITIZEN WAS KILLED". This is because you could kill a babushka and the text would say you killed a man...:grin::grin::grin:

I think some of the signs are missing in "Die Spies!". I would take a screenshot, but I don't know how to do it. Pressing F1 only brings up the help menu.

A little bug report: I test MoTmod and its Hungarian translation...I finished with some missions, and I saw a problem with level end rating, I get always the best "Volkodav" rating even if I kill and hit etc. some people...I test the mod on easy difficulty level.

Well, there's no change in the game logic for those missions yet, so maybe forlik could sort it out by the time Jagdpanther is ready...

The key for taking a screenshot has changed from "F1" to "F11".

AHO is right. For MoT game F11 key should be used. F1 was used for DtS. Please make screenshot and post it here.

I cannot confirm this bug. Everything looks good on my system (Base: DtS German, MoT English, no mods just german translation).

The missing sings are model files, which are refered by the level map file (SWD).
Either the SWD is manipulated or the corresponding model file (SMF) is missing...

The signs now show up in MoTMod, thanks to AHO. I'll add the sign textures to my addon for MoTMod, since they were edited by AHO (the original were incorrect German text).

Speaking of my addon, I need to figure out how to extract voice files from Hitman: Blood Money. I don't think hwhd does the trick.
