Cheers, I knew I was wrong some where in that. :)

Those sounds are great,a vast improvement.
Thanks for the heads up Big L :)

Now that terrain looks much more natural. Knowing that the SDK's are coming I feel much better about the future of this game.

Nice update...

What could possibly be bigger than the DC?! Unless it is a super DC ala Falcon 4 style. That would put this leaps and bounds ahead of any other sim, especially if it's online friendly.

voyager_663rd 08-31-2011 11:51 PM

This was a video of a spit, 109 and a hurri (behind the spit till they taxi out) start up. They were only about 50' away from me at the time.

The spit was like a cadillac purring, the 109 was brute force, the hurri--well, you decide.

Mentioned on the Russian forums but just in case...
Please do not forget online text briefing page and coop-style interface for plane selection in full-real settings (including mixed dogfight-coop servers).

Looking forward to SDK and new map. Any timeline for Su-26?

Amen! Ditto on the COOP, Until My squadmates and I can fly together in decent missions whether same side or opposing, we remain in IL2 46 UP mods

Encouraged...but not convinced

On the video... Noticing the TrackIR movements... I would love to know what settings Luthier uses with this "SIM" for his TIR, looks real smooth there.
To me, the present iteration does not seem to be optimized for TIR

Shagrathss 09-01-2011 06:11 AM

wait.........

i can't wait anymore! nice work but where is the update!!!???

Goanna1 09-01-2011 08:53 AM

I am suitably Impressed by all the work
Thanks , Luthier and team, can't wait to try your hard work out
Looks like you are showing up your detractors, as the old-timers here knew you would!!

Im itching to get onto the map editor and plane editor and see if we can create some really nice looking Europe maps, and possibly a Pacific - if it will allow us to do that.

Great to know that you guys at 1C havnt left us for the sandy shores of L.A (luthier)

I kid, really pleased with this, look great keep up the good worrk and good luck

Spot on comment, this will be a great game for years to come :)

Ploughman 09-01-2011 10:04 AM

Thanks for dropping us line. Looking forward to checking out this content. Be interesting to see how the SDKs, especially the aircraft SDK when its released, works out. Will we see new third party content providers sprouting up or will the established providers decide to get involved? Whatever happens things will get very interesting very quickly.

I have a friend on this forum who drove me nuts with his negativity before COD came out. When it came out he was right about a lot of things but now things are swinging to my bright and sunny out look on this sim so it looks like we're both going to be happy :)

How is the game for you Richie?

Richie 09-01-2011 12:37 PM

I like it Philip I have what I think is a good base for it First off a Lian Li P-80 case with the biggest Noctua cooler you can get An Asus P6t deluxe an i7 975 cpu corsair 1000 watt ps 12 gigs of Corsair ram and a high mid range card a MSI GTX 560. I'll get a faster one later. So far it works very well. On syndicate up high it gets about 50 fps and down lower 30 I think..I'll check later. It cost though lol. One of the big hits was that case but look at the reviews it gets.

I still have this..I won't use the language I want to use.... Extreme 3d pro Logitech stick that I hate with a passion. It's so stiff I call it "The elephant's erection" I'm sure I've missed many a kill because of it. I have to find another that suits me. :(

LOL...same here, but I was not willing to spend another € 135,00 for new a Saitek X52 pro. IMO it's good looking but unfortunately cheesy processed. The Extreme 3D Pro is not sexy, but it works and is rock solid....although from now on I can't get the "The elephant's erection" out of my head :)

Friendly_flyer 09-01-2011 01:00 PM

Oooooo, the start up noises are great! I'm very much looking forward to hearing the new sounds!

philip.ed 09-01-2011 01:05 PM

Cheers for that Richie! That's a brilliant rig you have too! LOL at the 'elephant's erection'. Brilliant metaphor lol.

IDK. I can't help but think the elephant got the short end of the deal.

Richie 09-01-2011 01:38 PM

Well I'll give points to the manufacturer for sturdiness, they are built very well. I've always liked the feel of the single springer sticks like the old Saiteks. They have a nice smooth constant feel to them. I had a Cyborg Gold and loved it but sadly they're not as robust as the Logitechs.

Richie 09-01-2011 01:44 PM

I was wondering what the new map would be. A nice desert like map would be really cool. We have all of the aeroplanes for it and all of the skinners could whip us up some skins in a hurry. I see there's one 109 skin here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I1llNUW5Fw

GS_Hunger 09-01-2011 01:52 PM

This Dev.-Update is just a new startup for hope in case of CoD.

A Desert Scenario would be nice, but Buildings, Trees, Vehicle-Skins so on are missing, think bout that.

;-)

We MIGHT get a beta-patch. Until it happens and/or is confirmed that we will get it: Don't get too excited.

There was a limited release of the patch. If you didn't get it in time you will have to wait until next Friday.:(:-D

It'll be pretty sweet to just start the motor over and over just to hear it. Can't wait. Hopefully 24 hours from now I will be @ home and enjoying them.

Understood, so is this beta a soon to be "official" release, or is it a beta of a soon to be released mod from a designer on the forurm? I'd just like to know if one does not like the release, or it makes things worse, that it can be uninstalled, sorry for my igonorance, I dont know if Luthiar works for the Maddox team. I dont have a ton of time to follow the forums, what time I do have I enjoy playing the game.

The beta will be out for a week or two before made official release.
So if you don't like it then you can reinstall via Steam to get to pre-beta (i.e. latest patch).

Luthier is the nickname that Ilya Shevchenko, the Lead Development Producer at 1C-SoftClub (according to his facebook profile), use here on 1C forum.
In the abscenes of a community manager Luthier is the one that keeps in contact with the community.

Thanks so much, sounds good. So If I didnt like the beta, I would have to reinstall the entire game? I'll probably wait and see what others think, however Im sure it will be quite nice. Thanks again for taking your time to assist.

no need to reinstall, just a file check with steam.

UberDemon 09-02-2011 08:15 AM

Howdy. If anyone could share with me when the beta is available, I would appreciate it.

I purchased my copy online and have been tweaking it for a few days. The graphics are no doubt stunning.

Shado 09-02-2011 08:20 AM

Hi Uber, dont worry mate, you will know when its out, this board will be buzzing ;) that is of course nothing has gone wrong, fingers crossed, im in the same boat as you Shagrathss if thats any consolation.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for making you wait for an update. Here it is!

We’ve been working very hard on multiple aspects of the game. We are pushing with all our might to have the beta version of the upcoming patch ready… Well, sooner than you might think! If nothing goes wrong, it might even be out this very Friday.

As stated earlier, it’ll contain a beta version of the completely new sound (fewer individual engine models, sparse ambience), revamped color processing algorithms, transparent shorelines, and numerous fixes and improvements. It’ll also contain the Bf-109E-4 and E-4/B and at least one new mid-size online map.

Following that, we have other things in the works. We are finally ready to start knocking out SDKs, with the map making SDK being the first one you’ll see – quite soon, too! We’ll release more details on that, and on the plane-making SDK, after the upcoming beta patch is fully tested and goes live.

We also have a rather cool new major feature almost ready. It’s not going to make this patch. In order to keep the competitors squirming, we won’t say what it is until we’re ready to release it.

With that, here’s a short video showcasing the new WIP sound. It’s recorded on a deprecated version of the patch, after which we’ve toned down the ocean colors and filled in the sounds. The biggest omission is the turbine whine of the Daimler-Benz. Don’t worry, you’ll hear it in the actual patch.

(I didn’t want to make an update without the video, and by the time I finally captured and spliced it together, the game version advanced way ahead. And by the time I make a new video of the sound as it is today, you’ll all be playing it yourselves!)
