Stop being so optimistic

Looked plausible until you read this:

"New 3D engine – Latest-gen graphics engine with DX10 and DX11 API support"

DX11?

Oh, not again!!!!!

Of course does the engine support DX11, it isn't used atm because the DX11 performance for the functions needed in this sim is less then optimal.

And that will probably not change with the new engine, afaik the problems were with the great drawing distances, which wont change.

Whoa there robtek....If you were reading the thread you would realize I was just stating what was on a website. I wasn't ranting. Gotta love the faithful around here, always looking for a fight. Since you bring it up, an engine that supports DX11 but DX11 can't be used, doesn't really support it now does it?

I hope you don`t have to order a new rig as we get an increase of 150% in FPS!
Buy a good book, makes the waiting shorter! ;-)

Salut!

Sorry for brewing up,

but then, it is not the engine, which causes the problems, but DX11 isn't able to perform well with such huge areas and drawing distances.

With smaller maps(FPS) or much less detail it should work.
