I seriously doubt there will be such things as "boosterpacks" or "laserguided missiles" (if you will). Will probably be like WoT, different and premium loadouts, engine upgrades, weight reduction via better radio equipment etc. It won't be 100% accurate or maybe even 50% accurate ;) but StarWars it will be.....not...Yoda says!

What this game needs to be a winner, is high number of players allowed per server and large enough maps to encurage strategic playing.

They would get a lot of players that got tired with Aces High.

I just read the FAQ. Sounds pretty promising. Real time ground force movement and an ongoing war is what I wanted IL2 to always have.

The list of flyable planes sounds pretty impressive. Especially the big 4 engine bombers we never had in IL2.

Servers limited to only 32 people though, and map size 65km x 65km? Is that large? How does that compare to Cliffs of Dover's map?

The server limit is crap. The map is quite small compared to our Chanel map (around 200kmx200km), but quite a bit bigger than our small Cross vs Roundelle online map (15kmx15km).

Certainly looks interesting. Does anyone know how new aircraft compare price-wise to other sims like Rise of Flight?

65x65 km maps sounds like gangbang in a barrel. ;)

i tried to watch a video they have on Youtube, but they ruined it with music,, stop putting music in videos,, I wanted to hear the game sounds,,,

since I didn't actually hear the game, I only saw the video..

I was reading the FAQ, and when they say 'we are making it balanced' means, like what IL-2 did, if one side feels thier plane is getting killed too much they will dumb down the better planes..

The FAQ sounds pretty interesting. They already have over 100 flyable planes which is impressive. Some being pretty rare or never flyable in recent ww2 sims (b-17 I'm looking forward too). No doubt not as detailed as CloD, but still it looks like fun.

Also the real time ground forces moving sounds very interesting to me. As well as the gameplay mode that has an ongoing war.

Plus this could be a fun sim to get your friends into pc flight sims. It's free, runs great on mac or pc (unheard of for a combat sim). My friends aren't as hardcore when it comes to realism and complex CEM so this could be a great 'gateway drug' into the world of Cliffs of Dover engine management and flight models.

The cockpit sucks, but the game imho is great, maybe I have to test it

I fear it will be kind of arcadish like WoP.
They adress that game to the mass not to simulation freaks, as they need to gain money with upgrades or maybe additional planes or advertisement.
This cant be reached, with few players that love simulation.

Probably the counterpart of WoT, which is also very arcadish.
But well, maybe i am wrong.
