I think you are wrong. Why do you think it is the case?

The sound sputters or goes off entirely the moment side missions spawn AI, this is not when radio messages are created. The radio messages are always some time after this.

Well you certainly get spikes when messages come through, and ive had more than once my sound completely cop out on such a spike...

because while cresating my BoB Day mission I've had to do a LOT of testing in order to get the 3 Stuka flights bombing the airfield to meet up as close as possible at a certain point in space and time. and AI spawning never generated sound problems, only AI chattering and eventually the airplane switching.

anyway, I have not said that this is the cause (even if I think it is), but I've expressly put a "most probably" in there in order to avoid biased comments.

Did you experience the bug?

Was fun got a few spits and a hurri.

Really need to jump in a spit and learn how to fly it, its still going to take a while to get used to the 109.

Don't see much specs from ppl that complain about the bug though.
1. Drivers versions would be a start.
2. I presume most of you have multi core cpu's , What is the AffinityMask of the ppl with the problem. Did you try different Mask values (ie leaving one core for windows vs taking all the Cores vs taking only 1 core )
3. 64bit vs 32 bit ?
4. Chipset of the audio card ( It might be diff card manufacturer , but the might use the same audio chipset) .

From steam menu's you can get a System spec (think it is in the settings menu).

Paste the output of that( it lists some of the driver versions etc.. )
Personally I dont suffer from the sound problem. Win 7 64 , on a Mac Pro.

Good suggestions overall, just let me make a slight correction: the process affinity mask setting is now obsolete and has been deleted from the the new version of the conf.ini file.

Were you testing on a dedicated server? And what do you mean AI chattering?

(I'm just trying understand as much as possible)

What i have observed has been pretty clear cut, but NOT consistent. By watching the dedicated server console the sound issues always start with the introduction of a side mission, this coincides with AI spawning, the sound does not always crap out with a side mission and never seems to affect everyone on the server at the same time, sometimes a side mission affects no one, other times just one or two people. But the sounds issues always start with a side mission starting. At least that is what we have observed while flying as a group, all on TeamSpeak and watching the dedicated server console.

What the actual cause is only Luthier and co would know, and they probably wouldn't bother telling us if they did.

The only solution i see is to have no side missions. This is what should be tested, but to be honest I've run out of patience with the game and have shelved it for the time being.
