I've been spending a lot of time in DCS:A-10C while waiting for CloD to finish baking. It doesn't have the excitement of a WWII dogfight, but still damn rewarding when you're learning your way around the cockpit.

Remember that feeling the first time you learned to ride a bike or drive a stick-shift? ;)

i fly DCS-A10C from the first Beta
and i can ensure you that is the most realistic simulator for the pc..
personally never had a problem with it to fly it or killing targets or use the various advanced systems that has..[Falcon fan for years]
i fly every day online and there are a very good community and very friendly for what you ask..
you should try this with the latest patch is excellent
:-):-)

it didn't quite work that way, all those terrorists on the 911 flights were actually going through flight training at a major flight training organization in the US, they had to use MS flight sim to practice the awfull event they planned because it would have been perhaps a little obvious what they were up to trying to practice it in the actual simulators.......although it was blatantly dubious that they never showed interest in learning to land.

not so sure just anybody could climb into the A-10 and fly it just because of the sim either but I do agree with you the fidelity is amazing and there certainly would be some people capable of it.

Oh sure i know that im just saying the Sim 'helped' them.. as for those MS sims its amazing how much detail are in them even down to radio channels and very precise navigation.

And as i said there are alot of other factors involved in just being able to jump into said AC and fly it but you get my drift and i dont hink there would be much difference in controls and instrument navagation, flying the bird due to its FM etc etc are a different story i know..

This is the only thing i didnt like about modern combat sims, the whold fire and forget though its very rewarding when getting a kill its gets boring very fast unlike actual dogfighting in a prop plane.

i tried flanker and eurofighter when it first came out...very long time that was but i find myself just looking around and doing flybys while in external mode rather than trying to master 100 of different keystrokes..lol

No it's not possible if you like flight sims, I have them all just so I can mess about with them, exept ROF because I think the sales model is a 'rip off' but since the newly released full demo it is also in my inventory now.

I like the relative simplicity of WWII fighters. It's in between WWI and modern, right in the place where I want it.

But that A-10 game looks really fun. A-10 has always been one of my favorite aircrafts, have multiple posters of a-10 in my room. I might actually give it a shot.

heh, I use the keyboard less in DCS A10 than any other flight sim I have ever played. It has a fully clickable cockpit after all. Plus I use an X52 ( which isn't exactly rare hardware for a sim fan to own).

For laughs, though, you cant beat doing a mission in DCS A10 then jumping into my lawnmower engine powered, wicker basket, with a pea shooter that is Rise Of Flight for a stark contrast :D
