I just updated my PC this week and I installed and tried few other games before COD.
Black Death track gives me average around 47 FPS with minimum of 15 with all things maxed out, but at this point, the difference with other games is stagering.:(
There are a lot of small isues that don't make playing COD an enjoying experience right now even on solid systems.:(

Flight sims have always been harder on hardware than anything else.

Im running dual 590s (quad SLI) .. most games I play are pegged at 60 (fraps limit with V sync)..

But even with one video core on CLOD, Im still getting acceptable frame rates with no stutters. (30 to 50... ground/building stuff on med, aircraft stuff on HIGH)
(Rise of Flight, with graphics turned down, runs about 45fps on a single core.. crazy it wont support SLI)

If you want eye candy in a flight sim, you've got to shell out for the hardware.
Old IL2 was the same way. My friends and I updated our rigs several times to keep things running on high.

If your hardware aint up to snuff.. then drop your settings significantly.

A lot of bugs left to squash.. yep. specially with some FMB stuff.. roads..column action... But Im happy.
rather be flying and learning the new stuff.. the aircraft handling, new engine management, the scripting... etc than sitting on my hands waiting.

Well I am obviously a masochist I come back to this every few days for one or 2 crashes, some of which require a computer reboot as the screen just blacks out and locks up.
So I bit the bullet and selected medium for most settings.
Same old same old, clunky over land and not at all enjoyable to play. Sigh, back to RoF again.

I gave up long ago :( Better things to do in life than hopelessly expecting a pactch which will fix this sim

I can absolute understand the thread starter.
All my 13 squadron m8s bought the game, felt cheated, 3 got banned in the forums coz they said what their frustration was from, waited for patches, saw no real development to an enjoyable game, quit playing the game.
Waiting fot things to happen.
Almost half of them dont bet a penny on the russian devs to be able to rescue the engine.
I am personally in a conflict, sometimes i really can enjoy flying but in general i am fed up after 30mins.
My personal guess, i threw the money for the game out of the window, but i ll be happy when i would be wrong sometime.

You really have a quad, 4 GB RAM, and run XP 32 and not W7 64?

And worse: runs IL-2: CloD, one heavy CPU title, with devs trying to extract better performance of multicore CPUs... XP 32 can't compare to W7 in therms of multicorecores usage.

Upgrade your system OS and try again. The time of "XP is better for games and W7 is just a resource hog" is gone... I run Ok CloD now in a system with weak CPU/GPU than yours...

There is really no reason to give up, except if one is really impatient or from the " instant gratification generation"!
This sim was in a really sad state when published!
But look, it is getting better and better!
When your at the bottom every way is up!!!
Just play something relaxing, like WoT, 'til this sim is fixed.
Me, i already have fun with it as it is now, except for this reallly annoying sound bug.
