Anyone in the US who does not have it, has chosen NOT TO HAVE IT. If I want the boxed version I'd much rather have a more advanced version of the game.. think how far the game has come in the last 5-6 weeks..

Then snug in between there are these threads where people call Ubisoft morons for postponing the release in the most important market.

I don't get it...

It's quite simple. They should've rolled out out a finished product (including all bugs fixed in the printed spitfire pilot's notes in the SE, hehe) on March 25 or whatever the EU/RU release was. Bad feelings now are inevitable until a major miracle happens and everything is working in CoD.

I live in the US and I would rather wait for a playable boxed version come to me from Amazon.

Won't be a miracle, it will be hard work. As for the product roll out, if you think the Dev's brough the DVD to the publishers and said "Here it is, its ready to go right now" you are an idiot. The world of publishers and producers is a fickle one.. I have NO inside info from this case, but I'd bet they were given a final hard date..either meet it or we move on and you move on with other projects.. they got out what they could and have been working their asses off to get it to where they want it to be. They get some sales and that buys them more time and now that they've shown that the product does in fact have some genre defining potential they will continue to build on this and it will just keep getting better and better..

Think about the man hours involved in this code.. its been worked on on and off for 6 years or more.. and in 5-6 weeks a few guys and been going 100% and have made big stride in fixing a massively complex pile of code..

I have a pretty good gaming rig.. not any 3X SLI madness.. just a good CPU and a good GPU card.. and I have had nothing but good performance..The game was playable for me even at release and now its playing by me at the highest settings at HIGH fps.. A lot of people are in the same boat as me.. others are having issues..

When it all shakes out a LOT of the issues are going to be G Card/Driver related..

And there is nothing wrong with that, its your choice. If you wanted to be playing it today you could be as well.. But again, its your choice

Anyone has more information?

BestBuy link
OverStock link

Stop whining. If they'd delayed the euro launch for a year or two we might have got a game instead of a bug fest flight sim SDK,.

How far exactly?

Does it have more content?

Are there more missions? More campaigns? More flyables? More FPS?

Or do you mean that you can now fly at 10 K plus, occasionally with some one else on the server?

Yanks: Pray it's not released for another year, that gives you 12 months to laugh at the euro early adopters losing their religion.

Thanks for the compliment!
My last info is that 1C/Maddox is an independent studio and UBI are the publishers for CoD. So, if they got pressured that hard by UBI, they should aim for making better contracts in the future.

As for the 5-6 years in development (plus about 5 months for the US release) issue... well, they've done a great job in the (non-optimized) graphics department, obviously, plus the sophisticated FM/DM. But that's about it. I just fail to see that long development time paying off in any way.

..

You actually have a high end system. Those specs are way above just good!

AWL_Spinner 05-18-2011 09:43 PM

I have it ordered from Amazon.ca and I've got no word of another delay (still saying May 16-May 30).

Happy to wait for a box. I want a DVD for the collection (I have them all), and am interested to see how it plays when it finally makes it over here physically (and compare my initial experience to the reviewers).

Carry on beta testing :)

Cheers, Spinner
