+1

that spitfire sound as rather awfull to be honest. sounded like a 3 second loop bad quality recorded.....

You could option not to download it if you don't like it. I prefer it, diveplane has a load of sound mods for various sims and they're top notch hands down.

Great sounds, are you considering modding the other bad external sounds?

BigPickle 04-14-2011 12:32 PM

@ Diveplane, where in the main game folder did you find the stock sound files? also is your mod a straight replacement mod?

diveplane yes the external sounds could be improved but at least they sound sort of like a plane where as the brit machine guns remind me of a giant curtain being ripped in half:grin: drives me up the wall

Odd since some people trying to explain how multiple mg-42 sounded described it exactly like that.

8 mg`s firing at the same time doesnt sound the same as 1.

When I used to make sound mods for other games using real-world sounds I would often rebalance the sounds to try and regain some of their original feel. What sound editing programs do you use? I've always used Audacity since its freely available and has enough features needed for sound modding.

Sounds are crap:rolleyes:

Just replace them for these;

How many years ago now?
So how bloody difficult can it be.................accurate sounds!

Conte Zero 04-14-2011 02:07 PM

In my opinion guns sounds are a much bigger problem: sound fake and silly, and annoying

anybody working on them by chance?

BTW is there a way to lower their ingame guns volume? maybe some INI file? They are terribly loud compared to anything else.
