Strange about those 2 men? I don't understand why . It happened to me when i imported incompatible custom men war missions in men of war AS.
Men of peace it's only a matter of time. I'm quite busy at the moment. I have added a few buildings in the map, i'm thinking about other possible improvements and then i will send you the updated version. P.S. I'm adding a elevated wooden bridge(small_bridge) but i've problems in merging all parts together. |

Great Job guys! Men of Peace, I did notice on your latest mission a minor glitch. In the middle of the map there are a couple VC pill boxes, when there are explosions in that area it has an exploding "water" effect instead of dirt. Not a biggie, just thought I would mention it. Anyway, keep up the good work!

It's kinda strange but the second mission won't load anymore. After I hit the spacebar, the spinning windows circle thing shows up and I have an error when I alt tab out. I re-extracted the second mission out of the original zip that I know worked but no go. I haven't changed anything in my install. |
Suggestion for the heloicopter
Just finish the 2nd mission, thanks for that. The helo is not what I expect. Here is my suggestion for improvement
It should behave like any other units. Left click on the ground and it should fly to that point rather than crash onto it. Click "exit" on an open area or rice field should result the helo landing and pilot exit alive. At the moment, they just jump to their dead. One of the helo start with zero fuel, so it can't be move. But it can stay in the air forever. The "return fire" and "fire at will" and "free to move" does not work. In another word, it is a sitting duck. Luckily the VC don't like to shoot at it, they just point their gun to it. Surely they can fire rpg or heavy machine gun against helo. I hope it is possible to make these changes. control not mouse , and page up page down you set it's height , and this is how the helis are coded in this game . IMO 1c didn't made the helis available to players exactly because of this reason . because they are annoying to use ,and overpowered if there are no AA guns around . |
Men Of Peace, I finally managed to get all the missions working and completed every1 except the Hamburger Hill (it's awesome, but I just can't complete it :lol: )
And I've decided to put a hold on my so called "project" until the release of the patch as I thought the missions wouldn't work properly and all the effort would be wasted.... Soooo, I've been tossing this idea for a mission in my head for some time, and I thought I'd share it with you: It is called Fight Fire With Fire and basically a US peaceful convoy, carrying the wounded and medicine, was utterly crushed by the NVA and HQ has lost contact with them and your team is sent in. You find the convoy and get ambushed by the NVA and run into the jungle (or some other shelter) and call in for reinforcements (tanks, infantry, airstikes) and manage to fight off the enemy ambush team, (consisting of possibly a tank and a lot of infantry) at which point you find an enemy supply depot which is heavily guarded and you get the task to destroy it. However, things go wrong while you try to destroy it and NVA call in a massive backup (tanks, helis, APC's and loads of infantry) and you have to hold out until the backup arrives (the defence lasts about 30 minutes, enemy spawns when only a few units of the first wave are left, for eg. 40 units of infantry as a 1st wave, when only 5 are left, 2nd "heavily armed" wave launches) during the time you have available only howitzer and airstike support; ideally your "army" will consist of 3-4 tanks and 30-50 infantry... not to mention some ZU-23's which were already at the base :mrgreen: [at the begining, when ambushed, spawn 3-4 tanks and 20-30 infantry and set them as allies, then when you get the task to destroy the depot, transfer them to your command] Feel free to make any changes, or don't make the map at all. It's totally your call, I just thought I'd give you an idea :grin: Note: The best way to do this is to make "some" changes to the Bon Voyage To Cambodia map as it already has a sort of a supply depot. |

I'm working on a new mission but i don't know when it will be complete. I have a prob: is there a height limit in map making? I'm asking cos in my map men don't shoot above 1250 meters. Above that height they kill eachother only by knives and hands. That's strange.

Man o' war that sound like a great idea for a mission ,we'll see about it in the future ,maybe you can also work on it when the editor released . MACV yes I will , just had a really busy few weeks in work , barely have time for modding ,I'm in the middle of making a city defensive map ,but for that i need to import city houses models from MOW , so I'm trying to find the balance between town that looks good and to keep the file size as small as possible as well . so it also takes more time . Just hope there wont be any problems with importing models from MOW from the copyright angle . ugopierini I'll check the update soon ,thanks . it will take me more time then the usual to check it . see the reason above . and as for the heights , going too high is buggy, above certain heights , you can see the sky box from above and it looks real bad . you can see on the hamburger hill mission ,the highest point in the map ,is right on the border on the point were it turns ugly . |

I've been wanting to import a flashlight from a mod for the MOW, and when I place it in the editor it has its shape (it even glows at night, as its supposed to) but when I pick it up it turns into a ! and it doesn't glow... I've imported the "fonar_ruchn" (thats the name of the lamp file) into MOWV resource/e3.pak file (it's under "weapons") I was wondering if you'd know if I did something wrong? I have a problem with doors in game(not gates, they work correctly). I can order doors to open when i want with triggers ,but they are seen by ai human as locked. I put animation with open command and i also used entity state trigger (i set them "opened"in tag) but ai humans don't pass throught the door . I always must to unlock doors directly(a locker icon appears) to make them work properly.

Editing sounds for air stirke for F-4, and to show ordinace impact
How do we change the sounds for airstrikes, for aircraft? right now we have an F-4 and a UH1 doing airstrikes, but the sound is of a WWII aircraft airstrike, and dose not show ordinace drop and impact.

However, you can try adding the "waypoint" trigger and adding "sound" trigger (maybe it's music, I don't know) and adding the sound of a modern airstrike... I did copy the fonar file (it's size is 1KB) from resource/set/stuff/pistol to MOWV/resource/entity/reac mod/weapons/fonar_ruchn etc. and I still have the same problem... :confused: Then I copied the entire set file from the mod to MOWV/resource/set and still nothing... Can you help me out?:confused: If anyone else knows the solution to this problem, please tell me! Thanks! |
I need help. I want to make a vehicle (a m113)act as a bulldozer against other vehicles(crushed or not inhabited). In a normal situation the vehicle crush the first abandoned vehicle and stop engines. I want not to make it stop. Any idea? I have bridges in my map and i want the ai to clean them in game.

Man o' war same goes to you, if you finished that mission you worked on . and to answer your question ,just zip or RAR your mission folder, upload it to mediafire or something and send me the link in private. dont forget to include the texts and any other stuff that located in other folders (if you use any,like for example custom environments.) just send it all in one folder and I'll take care of all the placements of the files in the right locations and the mod setting issues. about that flashlight , can't be sure but it seems you transferred the folders to a wrong location , if you want send me a download link in private to that mod ,and when I'll have spare few minutes I'll check it out and let you know . ugopierini ,sorry man no time to experiment i can only suggest some things that might work or not ,maybe try to disable AI movement , make sure that all the vehicles are light enough for the m114 to bulldoz cause it's not heavy vehicle , or go for the easy option and just use a tank instead . |

It's basically about chasing a Russian officer responsible for war crimes against the USA... I've made only 1 mission so far (the 1 we talked about) and still working on others... it's gonna take a long time for em to be made... Keep up the good work! :grin: |

Hello, guys some of the people in our group have been trying to edit the sound files, but still we have not been able to do so in our attempts at this time, we have also tryed arming the f4 with bombs from the presest that are given, it might have to be script some how. We also have been looking at the MOWA and othere series to see how they had the aircraft to drop ordance, we will pop smoke if we find out how it's done.

Hey Men of Peace, got a issue, on the second mission where the convoy suppose to come down the road, it's like the 3rd objective, it never comes.
I sat there for about 20 minutes and the convoy would never come, it's quite aggervating cause i really wannna get through the mission. Please help :d Tyler. |

you're right men...but the tank is secondary objectives the primary is to defend the town. Anyway thanks for the great job...kep walking ;)

These missions are great, but unfortunately they are a complete headache to play due to the insanely low FPS I get during them. I recently bought a new graphics card and can run Skyrim on ultra settings perfectly with great FPS, but with MoWV, even though I've lowered the graphic settings to the lowest they can go, I'm still left with awful framerates and units that move in slow motion because of it...
The third mission was almost unplayable for me due to the countless units and the awful FPS it caused. |

Did you add them in the option\mod in game? In option there's near video audio etc there's "mod". There you can activate all subdirectories in mod folder. After the last patch you can do it .

I found out what I did wrong and got it working but under The Smell of Napalm should I be seeing all the seven missions or do I have to complete one to move to the next?

You can complete a mission to pass to the next mission or you can modify the game progress file as already explained in a previous post

hi guys
first, thanks for these great extra missions, they've bought me hours of enjoyment. i have a question regarding the Hamburger Hill mission, you said that more men can be recruited in this mission, and in-game there is a text prompt that also tells me i can recruit other men if needed. for whatever reason, i am unable to recruit any other men - is there some special command to do it? i've been trying the little hand icons, collect/use commands, but can't find anything that actually allows me to recruit anyone. my first squad slowly gets whittle daway, and without the reinforcement/recruit ability, i think i'm really gonna struggle to complete this one. any suggestions welcomed. thanks in advance |
