I think you're missing the point. The aircraft that get added to the game at this point are done because of interest only. It's whatever modeller does the work to make it happen - usually this means they are very interested in whatever plane gets added. Team Daidalos facilitates that happening (and contribute a few of their own as time allows).

If you're feeling very interested, then feel free to jump through all of the 3D modelling hoops to make your favourite aircraft happen. It's not easy but I give a huge kudos to anyone who manages to do it.

Gotta truly love the gunner reload, watching the drum spin and gun go silent.Truly epic. Was testing val as level bomber and a uppity wildcat got a drum full.nailed me good while reloading.Truly epic, no more super sniper Japanese rear gunners!!

I have waited patiently for the new P40 and i love it.
I have to give it 4 out of five stars (-1 because its not dgen).
My only negative on the 4.13 patch is the loss of the original differential brakes
(button+rudder) from the keyboard.:cool:

It's the small things...

Very happy to see an actual window over the bomb aimer's position when viewed from the pilot's position in the SB-2, instead of that ugly blue booger texture that used to be there.

Lots of little details made it into the patch that aren't in the notes. :)

I tell you, I love this sim. :) :)

Question about reload
 
Hello

What airplanes have the effect of reloading guns? Do I have to setup something in the conf.ini file? or in the menu options firts? or any key activation?

Thank you for your time in answering this question.

By the way: I love this flight simluator. Hope to see someday the R/R/R option (reload/refuel/repair).

Italy can be added to the Single and Campaign mission list in the stock version of the sim but you must add it yourself. The KB article I linked to at Mission4Today lists all the Country codes that can be used in the stock version of the sim.

yes, I know the file IT by Gaston, even if the rank and medals are wrong and i have already downloaded. But i spoke to introduce in the original game a IT file along with a dynamic campaign given that nothing is missing to create it.

Dyamic campaigns have always been 3rd party additions to the game. There are several dynamic Italy campaigns available for both DGEN, DGEN_MOD, and DCG. If you play the stock game, download Lowengrin's DCG and you'll find an Italian campaign there. There are several other Italian campaigns for the modded game (HSFX for instance).

I know, I'm building campaigns statistics for HSFX, but I want it all have the possibility you have a IT folder and a dynamic campaign and single missions without needing to download MOD or other things from other sites,

It takes a bit more than a folder and created campaign for that to happen.

The DGen.exe itself must be edited and recompiled to recognize any plane and mapsets that weren't written for it and declared previously. It's not as simple as that might sound, though. To do that, the original guy who wrote the DGen.exe (or someone who knows precisely how he did it) has to make the changes, because an executable only works under a certain organizational system that the coder himself set up for it. That's the main reason why most of the newer plane and map sets introduced in recent years don't work in DGen campaigns.

Thankfully, there are two alternatives.

Asura is working on a new version of DGen to take advantage of all the new content introduced in recent patches. It's been suffering from a few annoying bugs, but he's been continuously working on it and it's been making progress. It has great potential, and is already far more flexible than the stock DGen in creative room for campaign builders.

Then you have Lowengrin's DCG which, IMO, is absolutely essential. Very flexible and configurable, and the campaigns are truly dynamic. After a decade it is still actively supported by the original author, with yet another new beta version in the works. A real gem.

You don't need a mod pack to use either of these. They'll both work with a vanilla 1946.

I don't want to be harsh or rude in any way, but after having developed DCG voluntarily for almost a decade, Lo now has no time to implement new features like taxiing introduced with 4.12. We collect money for a new gunner's station of the He-177, but no one really cares what happens to DCG. It's taken for granted that it's there. No one specifically said anything about DCG support for Taxi to Takeoff. However, DCG v3.48 Beta is still - and has been for some time now - under development. It is what it is.

Lots do care about DCG, actually. A large number of people who play this game use it. It is by no means over. Nothing lasts forever, however. One doesn't need the histrionics to understand that.

Knowing the guys at TD... they would help if they can. It's a small group and it takes a while to get stuff done but I'm sure Lowengrin has support if he needs it. I'd be surprised if it were anything other.

My point is that we need DCG. And I have the impression that Lo, after having developed it voluntarily for years, has lost interest in it. DCG is too important for us to lose it or to let fade it away.

I hope Asura someday to join the daidalos team for a new dgen version. It is pity to have the new p40s but we have not to fly them in dgen campaigns :(

FYI, Asura's DGen aslo works with the stock version of the game, including 4.13

I do also hope someone is able and willing to update FBDJ it is really cool stuff. Started using it when the il2sc project ended. The programmer of FBDJ didn't have time to work on new updates/releases. But he was willing enough to share the source of FBDJ. I am not a programmer, but think it is not that easy to jump into someone else his program source and skill.
Updating the database and object lists can be done by yourself. I am not finished with those updates myself though.

I absolutely love the new B-24D! I wish I could transfer it to my CUP install! It is easily the best 4 engine interior!I must have done something wrong on this install however- even with the SAS update(http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.ph...c,46614.0.html ) I don't have any flyable B-17s.Is this just a glitch in my download or something else I need to address?

There is no AI flyables pack for 4.13 yet, that's why you don't have B-17s flyable.

I think that depends on the definition of "flyable".
If flyable just means that you can "somehow" move a plane across a map, then yes, any online server can give you any plane as a "flyable" one.
However the "non-flyables" which are made "flyable" that way will have no cockpit.
You will have to fly once with a "real flyable" plane first, then you can select "non-flyables made flyable" and control them from external view (F2) on those servers.

I rather think we're talking about making "non flyables" flyable with a (stand-in) cockpit and gunner stations, so that you can fly and control them like any other "real flyable" plane.

This you will not get at the moment, even not of FUN~4~ALL~413.
