S!

Nope, tested and verified. Works in Offline Mode and CoD started fine.

335th_GRAthos 04-06-2011 06:55 PM

When you set Steam OFFLINE (you actualy have to restart it, if my memory is correct) then it will no longer be connected to the internet.

You do have to log in (actualy you do not if you have ticked that small thiny when it asks you to keep your login details on this computer) and you can remove the LAN cable from your machine if you want, CoD will start normally.

335th_GRAthos 04-06-2011 07:07 PM

I am walking in the wood, looking for a patch.... patch, patch are you there?

290 people are online waiting for the same I see :-D

Wynthorpe 04-06-2011 07:08 PM

Its like waiting for a fish to bite!

dasSofa 04-06-2011 07:16 PM

I think we wait for nothing today if u look on the time ;)
But tomorrow is another day ... it`s better to wait until we have a worser game than it is now !

SsSsSsSsSnake 04-06-2011 07:42 PM

is that possible ?:)

dasSofa 04-06-2011 07:55 PM

I agree. This gives the sim 'character', and helps us all to connect with its birthing process!

Thanks Luthier for the continued progress updates.

Look at the time he posted this thread, it could come at any time. Possible the moment I give up and go to bed as life treats me like that.

Trooper117 04-06-2011 08:05 PM

lol.. I'll give it two hours and then sack it..

MB_Avro_UK 04-06-2011 08:10 PM

Cliffs of Dover in my opinion is the beginning of a flight series that will be far, far beyond anything we have experienced so far.

We are all experiencing birth pains. But that is natural.

Let's sit back and enjoy the growth of Cliffs and Dover and Storm of War.

Best Regards
MB_Avro

SoldaatvanOranje 04-06-2011 08:47 PM

this is crowdsourcing

I just like to dat that even though there are problems, this dev team shows great commitment and a listening ear. My compliments, this us crowdsourcing!

Cliffs of Dover and Storm of war?
2 different games or are they the same?
cheers

I hope the broken AntiAliasing-abilities are adressed as a bug. I don´t want to buy a 30" monitor to reduce the jaggies.

Thanks for update.

AARPRazorbacks 04-06-2011 09:02 PM

I have and fly CFS3 and all the expansions ETO, PTO, MAW, Korean skyies and OFF phase 2.
FSX with lots of addons.
Now I have CoD.

Thy are all good sim.
No matter how good a sim is your going to fly the sim that you what to fly at the time.

CoD needs to be made to where "Just like the other sims" it becomes user friendly.

Armatian 04-07-2011 12:10 AM

Maybe he got a headache trying to understand all the masters of code asking for 64bits and split frame rendering, they are so good that they never coded, they just cry at their pc and the machine fastly codes all, programmers around the world futilely try to catch with their epic rantcoding skills.
If you'r users, deal with it or start coding.

For 7 years I´ve waited for COD/SOW-BOB with all the features the developers said we would get.

The sim was released 11 days ago. Regarding the patch all of you are waiting for, it´s quite strange because right after I´ve got 2 fixing patches, but I´m affraid it´s not doing the job. Perhaps another two of these?

Here they are:

Not really. Something major must have occurred, otherwise there would have been some word. Giant Axe will enter CoD folklore the same way Two Weeks did in Il-2.

Nope. Probably something minor occurred, and Luthier decided that releasing a beta patch right now wasn't worth the effort. Or maybe he just got p****d off with all the ludicrous speculation, and went home for an early night. Probably a sensible approach...

Kankkis 04-07-2011 05:03 AM

I think it's either your case or power supply that causes the instability with London.

Kankkis 04-07-2011 06:35 AM

Woods/trees doesen't harm my fps, it's building, even couple of buildings, when i look at those i got terrible stuttering, if there is no buildings my fps is good even a high settings, i hate those buildings.

Aphrodite's childs

it's patch o'clock and I walk
through the empty streets
thoughts pave my fate within still
no one speaks to me
my mind takes me back to the years
that have passed me by

and it's so hard to believe
that it's me
that I see in the rain
don't pain

and it's so hard to believe
that what it is
it's the way that it has to be
I find sympathy
and so I'll go back to the years
that have passed me by

and it's so hard to believe
that it's me
that I see in the rain
don't pain

it's patch o' clock and I walk
through the empty streets
the night is my friend and with him

Don't know what it means exactly (only used google translator). Maybe a russian speaker can translate it properly.

avioni 04-07-2011 07:05 AM

max setting is slow for me even on water, btw the bullet casings and water splash very nice details.

Echo76 04-07-2011 07:49 AM

It'd be a nice gesture to inform us too as hunderds of hopeful folks seem to stack here in the evenings waiting for some info.

Anyway, I asked my russian friend to translate the sentence and she told it makes no sense, the google translator translated it pretty much right so apparently there is a typo in the text or its some sort of slang :)

It MIGHT mean that the patch is out today, we'll see.

Not many other developers take the time to post on forums after the
release of their product. We are spoiled with il 2's dev team with the amount
of feedback and info their giving us.
Most devs take the money and run(Codemasters-Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising and F1 2010).
People here dont realise how lucky we are that CoD will be fully supported
with patches and optimizations for years to come.
Only decent pc devs left are 1c Maddox,Bohemia Interactive and Creative Assembly, even the once great Dice have been canobilised by EA(Battlefield 3
will show if their still committed to pc gaming)have a feeling its gonna be another console port.
Anyway looking forward to the incoming patches.

Windows 7 theme which is GPU-intensive. Right-click desktop, Personalize then choose Windows 7 Basic.

is a desktop feature of your Windows 7 OS, allowing it to be 3D rendered. to disable it, just right click on the screen -> Personalize -> save your current profile and then scroll down and pick up a Basic or Classic theme and save it as a secondary profile, then you can switch between them at any time.

swiss 04-07-2011 08:48 AM

disable aero: http://www.askvg.com/how-to-disable-...-in-windows-7/

JG52Krupi 04-07-2011 09:06 AM

Ahh thanks guys when you said aero I was thinking if an in game setting :D

avioni 04-07-2011 09:39 AM

another quick thing go to "mydocuments" and into 1c softclub open up "conf.ini

VisibilityDistance=1

to disable aero automatically everytime u launch the game. right clik the game executable. then compatibility tab and tik the "disable desktop composition chekbox then apply

JG52Krupi 04-07-2011 09:47 AM

Nice thanks for the tip

doghous3 04-07-2011 09:55 AM

Have a look in HERE.

I can personally confirm that on my laptop, with those specsand using those settings, the difference between using a Win 7 Aero theme and a classic theme is around 4 FPS (tested on my Huns! mission).

PS: I don't know if "disable desktop composition" compatibility setting is the same as as completely switching off to the Win 7 Classic theme.

mister_ping 04-07-2011 10:04 AM

I think they may have ran into more problems yesterday whilst testing the beta patch, maybe this is the reason it was not ready for us last night. oh well, ready when it's ready!

avioni 04-07-2011 11:57 AM

some things that ive noticed have improved performance or stuttering for me. using nvidia drivers. force off vsyinc, set pre-rendered frames to max 8
