Best Buy here in Delaware is saying the release date has been delayed to 4/19/2011. Anyone know why UBI is delaying it for the stores shelves?

Only EMA are getting it on the 31st of march. US/Can & rest release should be april 19 if I'm not mistaken.

Guys, I am from Italy. I placed a preorder on Steam, then the Epileptic scandale came out and things got messy and confusing.

Besides that, I guess Steam has the highest price ever, right? What would you do in my shoes? where could I buy it and have it delivered ? Well, a digital drive dowload is OK, I dont need any box or physical disc at all.

Today I need to figure out a way to cancel my preorder on Steam, I don't know it there is an option for that...

Well I have read the various posts on the web gleaned here and there, following the release of COD in Russia .... and what a disappointment

I ve been waiting COD for 2 years, and I just learned, a few days before its release in Western countries , that the game is supposedly, slowed by an anti-epilepsy filter. Difficult to know the truth!

As for me, I will not order the game (Western version) while Ubisoft is not clear about this matter. If there is a filter, I urge them to make it optional.

I can understand that such a complex game has bugs in its first version, but I am confident in the responsiveness of Oleg's teams to correct these shortcomings by patches delivered in the first months. However, I cannot believe that Ubisoft maintain an anti-epilepsy (required) filter which penalizes the performance of the game

Now, I am waiting for an official communication of Ubisoft
I am sure Oleg and his team are not reponsible for this situation

Can someone outside UK pls confirm if they got the CE from UbiSoft UK by using proxy server? Or did Ubi perhaps cancelled their order when human operator realised that it has ordered to outside UK?

What I say is that I am little sceptic that you can order from UbiUK outside UK, but interested since it seems to be only way to get CE to Finland.

At the moment the order is still there.
They send me order confirmation, so they should be already - at least in Italy - obliged to execute it.
They cannot revoke the order after confirmation, since agreement is already done.

Went into GAME shop today to see if they have heard of it. But no, havent heard of it. They checked the list of released games. And its not on the list. I asked why they dont know about the game, but its available online as a download, and they said, well thats probably why we dont know about it then, we only hear about whats on this list, items we will stock.
So, GAME will not be stocking it in UK.

Try ordering from Amazon.fr, they should deliver in Italy ... and the CE is 62 euro + shipping.

I went to justflight.com, bought the game and downloaded it and then activated it in Steam. Nothing too it.

I cannot run it.... my computer is old and weak... but its installed and does run just very slow.

Been reading this thread and am still a bit confused...

at the UBI soft site, it has a release date of 4/26 but at the Steam store it says it'll be available for download on 4/19...

anyone know why the difference?

I also downloaded the game from Just Flight :grin: It's a 4 hour download at 277 kb/s
Activation went well, enter the activation code Just Flight emails to you into Steam.
Updates will be downloaded and away you go.

It runs well on my machine however, I have had some problems with micro freezes.

select the "rest of world" delivery zone. it will send you an activation code in your email. fire up your steam account and redeem the code. steam will allow you to download from their fast servers. do not download it from justflight. get it through steam like i said and let steam do the isntallation hassle. that is what i did. the game is playable as soon as you finish downloading it. you do not need to create a new steam account. just use your old one.

Well time for an update.. I found out why I was having the BIG problems with Lag. I bought a new GeForce 570 OC Vid Card, thinking man this thing is gonna SMOKE! Well imagine my dissappointment when it barely ran on stock low settings.....

After a number of frustrating hours of 1 frame per 2 seconds, I came across something I hadn't seen before. The software with my new card comes with a type of throttling function used for saving power. It was set to frugal mode rather than performance mode. I flipped the switch and away she went.

I've got everything maxed out now, I've flown for a few hours and she's a thing of beauty:grin:

I downloaded the game directly, not through Steam. Ran the .exe install... and then in Steam found the place to activate programs. I activated the game... presto, runs in Steam normally.

So, download from the store, activate in Steam, have fun playing. That simple. OR... if it gives you a faster download (justflight was very slow), use the emailed activation code and download from Steam.

Nothing illegal to this. Its not illegal to purchase software from a British website. Once you have it, activate in Steam. No big deal, I fear folks my be making this more complicated that it has to be.

Sorry to say I just canceled my order for DVD with Amazon.

As beautiful as the screen shot are, the flying experience is higher priority. Lack of FFB is a bigger issue for me than the bugs.

I've been flight simming for 25 years and generally buy any flight sim as soon as it comes out. I haven't minded going through the growing pains with the devs, especially the original IL-2 series and RoF.

This time I'll just watch the forums and wait... I'm sure I will order again when things settle down.

Some beta patches are available via torrent or direct download.but as far as I know official patches are only available through Steam.

I've downloaded it, and flown it, I see the great potential in this new game.
However, if it isnt perfect when N.A. gets it, it may not prosper. Buy it from a foreign source such as Justflight.com if you want to help with the game development, is my suggestion.
Personally I don't think its ready, however it is Very Close :O)

Forget the pre order... Just go to Justflight.com buy it.. using credit card etc.... get the download registration code... go to steam download an install the Game game... Then Fly it.
It is still in Beta stage in my opinion, however, If you really want to fly it, and you feel that you can input some usefull feedback. During the process...
We all Win! :grin: For me it was $45 Canadian. The Patches are coming in the same way the old IL2 game pushed them out..often! And as a bonus, one doesnot have to install manually, install them. Steam does these upates for you.
I have no problem playing Beta tester, if it will help this distribution.......PATIence will allow a tree to grow.
The oposite, wellll think about it Bro. The BHig tree gets chopped off at the Root. I would never wish this to happen as I feel that distro has gone far towards reallism and It should have a long happy Gestation. I believe that the reason for the delays is that information is coming in daily. and they want to make the Gold edition as clean as possible.

Some people report an error dealing with region .Ignore it and proceed to checkout.

You will receive an activation code.

You can d/l for Just flight or use the code to activate and download from Steam.People say the Steam download is much faster.

Agreed, It was a 4 hr download for me on a 300mb/s line from Just flight.
Then I activated on Steam using the activation code sent to me by email from
just flight.com . The activation process was easy. Download game .. Install Steam
enter actvation code, updates will be down loaded and then you are then flying.

Others have said that downloading the game was faster... after inputing the activation code into the Steam user interface.

I'm a Canadian Resident. I cant see it working any differently anywhere in the World.

Might as well update this thread. GoGamer sent out emails apologizing for the cancellation. But it explained that once the site has been updated I can pre-order again and for a few bucks less than the original pre-order. Apparently the cancellation had something to do with site update a issues:

People over on the Ubi forum have been buying from Just Flight and d/ling from Steams.Last entries were about a week ago.

It said the same thing to me. However, you still have buttons that allow you to go through with the purchase. It will also tell you that you need to remove it from your cart to proceed with the purchase, but you can just... proceed with the purchase anyway.

It should then give you an activation code. Plug that onto Steam, and you're good to go :) Did that a week or so ago, and have been marvelling at the engine management in all its 15fps glory, hehehe!

Apparently, they plugged that hole...so its July 19...

I am in the USA and I just bought it from Just Flight(evening,5/27/11).

Although the page says $49.99 it is actually on sale for $29.99.Just put it in your cart and choose "rest of the world" to see the price in dollars.

Ignore the region errors.Just continue on with the sale.Make sure you check the box about agreeing to their terms.

Use the exact same name and address as on your credit card otherwise it might not go through.

I got the activation code at the end of the transaction(as well as an email).

And once you get the Activation Code, launch Steam. At the top of the Steam window, click on Games/Activate a product on Steam...
There you can enter the Activation Code (cut and paste works great) and begin the downloading process.

Bludawg, I got up to that screen too. At the bottom there was a button that allowed me to continue. I clicked that despite all the warnings and got my code!

I bought and received from Just Flight....and I live in SoCal. Had the CLOD since April 14th and have been through the many stuggles of the patches.

Whats the big deal with US release? Everyone here knows the SIM is FUBAR anyway.

You might as well wait, you are not missing anything at this point. Multiplayer doesn't work and it is a struggle just to get it to run smooth enough to enjoy. Although I have it running pretty smooth, it is not alot of fun w/o multiplayer. This SIM has many miles to go. Seems like It is probably at least a year out from where it should be. I would be very surprised if it is released in US July 19th. Even then I doubt that everything could be fixed.

By the way Just Flight has dropped the price by 10 pounds sterling.
