Many thanks for 4.10 & merry Christmas to all
|
Need help please. I recently downloaded 1946 from the ubi website, v4.07m, and upgraded to v4.08m then v4.09m, made a copy for this patch. I downloaded the 4.10 patch and ran the exe. It appeared to run but the splash screen still shows v4.09m?
I since have found a read-me file that says v4.10 will not work with Pacific Fighters? I believe that is the ubi download file I paid for, not positive, thought it was a merged file. What are my options or have I done something wrong? Thanks Rick S. |
Wicked! thanks

Improvements in the FMB, triggers and AI performance will make a quantum leap. It has been proven that AI performance can definitely be modeled very close to probabilities of actual human behavior. The BOB II WOV has a most excellent AI performance package, which would be well worth studying when programming for AI. I know I'm going to really enjoy the great additions in the 4.10 --- for sure, Looking forward to the future and all the other great improvements. Thanks for a great Christmas present. |
I can't just understand how a game that is basicly atleast 7 years old can still feel this AWESOME. This kind of old-school radio navigation stuff hasn't probably ever been modelled before. And tell me a game where you can fly planes like IAR.81, P.11c or CW-21B. This game has taught me a lot of WW2 aviation, and (together with BoB) will continue to do so in the future.
The timing was also perfect. TD, I just cannot thank you enough!!!!11!!111!!!one!!!!eleven11! |
Thank you guys, this is very nice JaVA squad will enjoy this.
see ya in the sky 1JaVA_Jumper ;) |

A question, do I need to install the 4.10 dedicated server patch too as part of a normal install or is this seperate only for servers?
|
Hi, guys
Thank you for the job, but I and my friends have found some bugs... 1) 2хMK108 guns on Bf-109G-6 don't fire! 2) Choosing 4 bombs loadout (for exapmle 4x500SC for He-111H-6) lets to take two bombs only. 3) I'm not quite sure it's a bug - а bomb, dropped below 100 m doesn't explode. People ask themselves - how to make strafe attaks and top-mast bombing now? Anyway, thanks for patch and Marry Christmas) Sorry for my English) |
Habemus 4.10!
I said.I kinda knew the patch was going to be released in these last weeks. So,that´s our present! Merry christmas everyone! Feliz natal a todos! |
4.10 is out and I'm trapped in Switzerland... :D
Thanks a lot Daidalos Team! The best christmas gift for the whole Il-2 Community! :) |
I FALL IN LOVE again!!! I-15 bis!!! lovely Plane!!!
Thank you DT!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D |
From the 4.10 readme:
-------------------- Weapon related changes: Fuse arming for bombs. Where is this located? How do we use it? I know it's not 'Bomb Delay', since we've had that for years. Anybody know?? Aviar |
Thanks!
Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication to making one of the greatest games even better. May everyone of you have a blessed and Merry Christmas as well as a well deserved break! Now when is 4.11 coming out

Now bombs have a safety feature, in case they should fall when being loaded. |

Thank you very much for all the time and effort on this patch!
May you all have a wonderful holiday. Cheers |

The arming time is not adjustable!
If a bomb falls less then 2 sec. before impact it doesn't explode. |

Switch to original (stock) 4.10..it runs fine. Not implemented yet as 4.09 |
Nice! You guys gave a better effect to the roundels!
Now they don´t look like plain and that were sticked to aircraft.I liked the new US and USSR markings too. |
Found it:
Bomb Fusing Real life bombs have generally an electrical or mechanical time fuse to avoid premature explosion in case of mishap (e.g. a bomb detaching from the aircraft while still on the runway, or a bomb hitting the bomb rack due to turbulence). This has been implemented in IL-2, so that bombs now have a 2 seconds time fusing. If the bomb hits the target before that time, the fuse does not activate and the bomb does not explode. This means that in level flight bomb must be dropped from a minimum altitude of about 25 meters to explode. If the bomb is dropped in a dive the altitude must be proportionally greater. This also applies to skip bombing: the bomb must be dropped from at least 25m and must not hit the ship before 2 seconds. Thanks guys! Aviar |
Ok, thanks Aviar. All about bomb fusing is clear now.
But what about not-firing 2x108MK for Bf-109G-6/G-6 Late and 2 bombs instead 4 ones for bombers? |

The bomb fusing feature is problematic.
Is skip bombing now a thing of the past? Last I looked no one ever dropped a bomb loading it in the game. Seems a fix for a question no one asked. |

I also will host the 410m and guide on my Foo'blog for a while. Just hop to http://fooblog.mexxoft.com/il2-1946-...n-int-version/ to find it.
Perhaps it will have a benefit to some of you with poor bandwidth on other servers. man, my english is so poor, lol :D |

It's more difficult, but still possible. Altitude, speed and level flight are more important now, need practice. |
So many, many thanks for your efforts.
Merry Christmas. |

Been flying the new Dutch interceptor CW-21b for a while now and it's awesome, apart for a tiny spelling mistake in the cockpit the aircraft performs very well, and when you look on the outside you can actually see the pilot moving it's flight stick with his hands when you're turning! Awesome:grin: Is this the only plane who has this feature or are there more?
EDIT nevermind, I just found a lot more with the same feature, I've spend too much time in the cockpit than outside, wait.. isn't that what we are all supposed to do? :) |
Thankyou for the patch! The G-force addition is a interesting addtion when flying bombers!

thanks for this patch :-P, but bomb fusing 2 seconds, in bombers at high altitude ok, but in jabos at low altitude ......, better if we can change time in fusing, 2 secons is too many time, to low ground attack
Thanks for your patch again, and happy cristmas |

Rick, probably better to start your query again in the 4.10 Support and Bug Reporting thread. |

Discussion relating to MODS is prohibited What part of that don't you understand? It is tough enough moderating this boards after an update release, then you couple that with a TD release and it's mayhem for days. Mind your own business is the best way to enjoy the forums. |
Okay then. Merry Christmas.

Gracias...Felices fiestas y felíz 2011, to all:smile:

TD, I hope Santa has been showered you with gifts this year, you certainly have deserved it!
|
Thank you for the hard work TD! Very much appreciated.

1) AI seeing through clouds and other more complex AI improvements -> 4.11
2) Triggers -> 4.11 Yummy, can't wait for these two ;-) Bit of a shame they are not included in 4.10, but can't have it all. I know. Hopefully, 4.11 will not take another year (hint...), but I'm still far from dead so I have some time left. Thanks and regards, Mark |
Awesomopolous!

Thanks a lot for this great patch Team Daidalos!
What i especially like is the Normandy map, the stats, turbulence setting in FMB and the Spitfire types. I have much more to explore! ;) Is it just me, or are the overall FM's more stable? I have that feeling. Wishing you all a happy 2011! |
What I would like to see, is one simple thing in this sim since the first release!! Those automatic F-22 Raptorstyle Bombaydoors are a bit uncomfortable! I like those manual opened Doors, it`s more WW2 style.
I know it`s possible with a mod, but I don`t want to use mods in my il2 installation so I ask Diadalos for this feature! |
Just did the blind navigation with the "new night" in the Bf-110, definitely the most fun I've had in Il2 in a long time, I hope this leads to nightfighters because that would be hella awesome.
|
Thank you Daidalos for this great Christmas gift!
But.... I saw that the 12,7mm Breda SAFAT guns have been modified (finally!). Apart from the corrected tracers... the guns now fire at a higher rate per minute (i calculated maybe at 600-620 rpm), and I could see the "incendiary effect" on enemy airplanes when I hit them (there weren't incendiary bullets before...). They are more powerful now... just like a heavy 12,7mm machine gun should be. Not a cannon , but still... Why didn't you insert this information on the readme?? --- Also, the FULMAR! I couldn't see anybody commenting on this plane, but it's brilliant. The 3d model looks like a real example and it's a great addition for fans of the Med theatre. Also the Z.1007 is a beauty... Thanks a lot, I pratically like everything in this patch. It's the greatest addition to an already great sim. Rick |
Wow - 4.10 is out (wasn't here the last few days)! Cool! Thanks TD and Oleg.

Thankyou TD for all your hard work.
It is very much appreciated, and an unexpected bonus Xmas present.:grin::grin::grin::grin: |
Noticed the special functioning of the sliding windows in the Hs 129, pretty neat. It seems that depending on which way you are looking, either the left or right window opens.

That sounds much like a broken file. Did you try to re-download? You know, you can extract the files (by the installer) to any folder you want to, and copy the files from there to your game folder later. So you maybe can see, if the installer work at all or how big extracted files are. Just as a hint. |
Quote:
Thanks VERY much EJGr.Ost_Caspar for your advice. It led me to the real solution because it made me check out where my files ACTUALLY are. The 4.10 installer was defaulting to my C: drive (the standard installation path for IL-2 46) but I'd actually installed the app on my D: drive (I have a small SSD as my C: drive so I was saving space on it, my D: is a Velociraptor). It's been so long since I did the installation that I forgot! My sincere apologies for wasting your time. Suffice it to say all is now well and I have a fully operational 4.10 version of IL-2. Sincere thanks to yourself and Team Daidalos for continuing to develop and support this amazing application that I've been using since the beginning so many years ago! |
what is that "field mod 151/20" for the F2?
|
What it says, a replacement of the F-2's MG151/15 with the MG151/20 cannon. :)
|
Correct. There're a lot of tiny snippets of information around that upgrading the F-2 to the MG 151/20 was done on a great scale without any official documentation. For example the very first F-2 the RAF captured (F-2 of I./JG 26 in early 1941) already had the 15mm MG 151 replaced by the 20mm MG 151/20. Also known is a report of a F-2 which was used to test the RZ-65 rocket installation which is also listed as having a 20mm cannon.
The technical differences between MG 151 and MG 151/20 are very small and exchanging the vital parts could be done in short time (i.e. during one of the regular engine checks). Initially it seems as if that depended a bit on the pilot (someone "important" would get the parts easier and faster than a nameless pilot) while later it seems to have been a broadly used modification, especially on refurbished aircraft (such as those given to JG 51 in mid-1942). |
cool, thx for the info.

After flying some hours with my squadmates on spits vs 109 with 4.10 I now know how awesome 4.10 truly is.
We took off in K4s from an eastern blue base and went west to protect some of our bombers/fighter who attacked an enemy moving convoy, I kept a high watch whilst they feasted on the helpless vehicles below, but that soon draw attention to some spitfires, I managed to damage one on my first pass and finished him off in the second, but I lost my squadmates in the action. I regained altitude and noticed another plane in my area flying some 1000 meters higher, at first I thought it was friendly, until I saw the rather infamous nose of a P51 pointing straight at me, that's one of these moments where you can almost certainly arrange your funeral, but I dont know what manoeuvre I pulled but it shaked the P51 off and he started his climb again for a second pass, I think he wasted to much energy trying to get me in his gunsight because once I switched on WM50 I rapidly climbed after him and once I had him in a 90 degree angle in my sidewindow I pulled the trigger and several 30 mm rounds hit him but nothing came off, he started spinning and went down smoking, Horrido! I was now however deep in enemy territory and low on fuel, luckily one of my squadmates told me how to operate with the new radio navigation system and found my homebase after several minutes, my engine cut out when my wheels hit the floor, amazing feeling:) Thank you TD for 4.10 |

About the CW21B, really nice plane, has to be one of the best of 1940 in the planeset.
Just one thing i dont understand, its acceleration on take off. A bomber accelerates faster... Something you wouldnt expect from a very light plane with a strong engine. btw I love the work on the cockpits and the improvements on the DXXI :-P Cheers! |

I am very grateful for the work you are doing DT, but I understand the following. No talking in Mods, but DT making mods for inclusion officially? I really do not understand politics "Mods" when it extended his life to IL2. and thanks to the Mods there DT. If this response can not be made public, would appreciate a response by e-mails. Thank you very much. Google Translation Sorry for my English. Quote:

imho this can't be called a mod as in the 'probithed' mod, 1C approves TD improvements. So it is more like an upgrade than an (illegal: not 1C approved) adaption... |
Quote:
What I say is official in the readme. I can tell you more, the 4.9 will include a mod and not recognized the job sele moders. Latest in 4.10 was saved this error. It may be a legal question, do not know, would be good if this is cleared up once and for all. Greetings |
