I sure hope you are right that sales will increase, but i still have a feeling it will be gem which allready has been overlooked.
Right now everyone is playing Batman (me also, great game). OFPDR coming out, mw2, i still hope more people try the demo and buy the full game!

I'm wavering on MW2 now.
There are a lot of good games coming out and although I enjoyed MW its appeal didnt last that long really plus theres the price hike (RRP£55).
I'm getting IL2 obviously, unless something goes hideously wrong I'll get OFP2 as well as I'll also be getting Forza3 (I'm also a racing sim fan, now I know its not really a sim but its about as close as I can get on 360) and possibly NFS-Shift (its practically made by SimBin, need a demo). Dragon Age could be another buy.

That a lot of games to play in the next few months for someone with 2 kids and a full time job.

I see no reason why BoP would be any less popular than AC, HAXS, or any other on consoles.

i88bastard, I agree with most of what you say about MW 1&2. I'll play MW2 for a bit,(mostly for the new campiagn)but MP is pretty much a map pack.

Operation Flashpoint is new and exciting, but BoP is one of a kind at this point.

i would have been one of those people who would have played this until MW2, OFP:DR and halo: ODST but owing to the disgusting pricing choices of EA i've decided they can keep MW2 and stick it where the sun don't shine (and ODST isn't looking so great anyway), this and OFP will be my games of the year.

but i am under no illusions, this game will fly by most people, it's WWII, it's flying, it's not 100% easy and so 90% of people wont buy it, it will sell well enough though, they wouldn't have spent all the time developing it if it were not going to do so.

A limited audience but at least a normal one... I think DLC will be where the IL-2 team are looking for their buck and so be it...happy to support this game.

MW2 is looking more and more unappealling ...

a) price-45quid- takes the lemon
b) map packs ( what do you reckon...3?) -thats another 30quid
c) inumerable d!ckheads on line saying "I own you b!tch"-I guess the dictionary will have to spell it ownanism fron now on...
d) legendary camping and glitch exploitation.-its just not cricket

problem is MW2 is now too big...the new multiplayer footage was posted on youtube 70 times in the first 30 minutes of it's release...it's now just one huge cash cow...I might just not bother geting suckered in...
So hopefully any fools there might be on xbl/psn IL-2 will disappear come November...that is apart from Dennis who will be stood in a shop somewhere looking at BOP, looking at HOE, looking at BOP, looking at HOE...

Heck there are very few people interested on GameFAQS which by far the biggest videogame message board.

Ummm no I dont smoke crack and no I have nothing to do with any game publisher. However, I am a business man that has run is own company for the last five years and I hold a masters degree in Finance, so I would like to think that I know a little bit about economics, supply & demand and the like. IL2's demo had over one million downloads on PSN and Xbox live and has received solid reviews from every reviewer. This is going to sell like hot cakes....God you are such a tool.

No way does this game even come close to making the Sept NPD Top 10 in sales not even close. I can guarantee you that. People are going to be in for a HUGE reality check when the actual sales numbers come in.

of course it wont, i dont think anyone is seriously under the illusion that it will, but i reckon it will sell better than you presume, like i said, if 505/1c didn't expect a decent return (decent enough to cover the cost of this game and pay for the production of the next game AT LEAST) they wouldn't bother.
