Fraps... it says so at the top.

both the cockpit and external view of the RoF BS aircraft is pretty low resolution and lacking much of the detail already seen in CoD currently, pretty much confirming the earlier indications that many of the good elements we already have in CoD will not be present in RoF's ww2 BS sim. also looks like they are using painted textures to give an illusion of detail, rather then actually model the detail in 3 dimensions like we have in CoD, you cant even read the dials in RoF's BS for ex

no landscape detail either. having large flat white open fields in a winter scenery without needing to give much scenery detail is an easy way to reduce pc cpu/gpu resource load for a demo video, but it doesnt bode well for what has always been one of the biggest valid complaints against RoF: a lifeless boring world devoid of detail or life.

and even with all those glaring omissions, if you look at the scenery being modeled there is a clear visibility bubble that barely extends 2 or 3 km beyond the plane, with medium distance objects being much fuzzier and blured, and the further horizon being blurred even more. and beyond the immediate 2 - 3 km around you in that video you can also see how bad these medium/far distance objects are shimmering as their demo pc is struggling to display the more distant objects (trees, hedges ?), very obvious in the first 1/3 of the video !

RoF BS demo video looks more like a console game then a high end pc simulator like CoD :)

first, the current beauty of CoD

compared to the blurry low rez mess of RoF BS

Hahaha, you forgot to post the one and only screenshot from CloD

Now lets try that without using a purposely crap screen grab from a low res compressed video source...

How boring would that be, flying over endless, featureless terrain.........

zapatista 06-10-2013 02:28 PM

lol, Dano, you'r using a wip shot from a 3dsmax model to try and justify what the RoF BS could look like ? sorry dude, your being a bit dishonest in doing so and it clearly aint like that in their BS game :)

lets stick to real ingame objects for our direct comparison eh

here, i have now taken the RoF BS screenshot directly from their recent HD 720p source video, extracted the screenshot with a frame accurate video editor and used a lossless image format for the extracted frame. cant be more fair then that

take 2:

the glory of CoD in its current beauty:

and the low quality mess from RoF BS (HD 720p source video, extracted the screenshot with a frame accurate video editor and used a lossless image format for the extracted frame)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ss1280x720.png

pretty obvious quality difference :)

Dano,

btw i am not surprised you'r not using CoD, your pc just aint up to scratch with your relatively low end gfx card (for CoD) you cant actually run it well enough to see it in all its glory (as in the posted screenshot i provided)

the funny part is that the RoF fanatics are happy to pay 500$ for a game of significantly inferior quality where they waste their money on buying pretty little scarfs, and they should instead have spent half that money on pc hardware to buy a decent 2gb or 3 gb vram gfx card so they can run CoD properly and experience it in all its glory

and now their queuing up to buy RoF's latest BS for another 500$, and because they still have a low spec'ed pc that cant run high end 2013-2014 games they will again end up with a much inferior game by definition . to each his own i guess, but i find that rather strange logic :)

Yup clod looks good. And will look good for all time in the battle Britain everyday for the rest time. The game is dead. Not getting picked back up by anyone. Team fusion isn't getting the source code. And in fact I predict that team fusion sees the light and actually switches to BoS later this year when it hits beta.

And as far as the lifeless terrain.... Is the dead of winter what do u expect to see? A rain forest? This is exactly what you would have seen in BoM. Your fanboy ness is strong.

I mean are you actually going to continue to play clod when everyone goes to BoS? I don't understand how a person can be so stuck on one product even after it has been cancelled and left for dead.

As far as your argument on renderings. That render is IN in the digital nature engine. Just not in the environment of Stalingrad. So your argument is moot. And the lagg video is not a publicly released video, it's a leak of pre alha barely been flying prototype. Wll that change how it looks in game at release? I have no idea. But you cannot accurate judge these two shots.

Why so much hate for 1C GS /777 for keeping this alive?
