I'm looking to but a new rig soon and i see no reason for quadcore, i'm going for an E8400 3.6-4Ghz on one core for just one game must be good enough...most games can only use one core so the fastest and most expensive nehalem will be 400-800mhz slower than the E8400. Or am i missing something?...

As you say - maybe the Nehalems will not be the optimal gaming stuff. In my gaming rig I have an E8400 too, running at 3.6 Ghz with air cooling. No problems at all (55 degrees at full load). A game like IL2 is for sure not going to benefit from a Quad (or even a dual), and the day that a game really makes good use of four cores is yet to come. What I'm intesested in is how much you can clock those Nehalems. If they do, they may be interesting... And lets face it, it's allways fun having the latest stuff ;)
