I'm sorry to say that, but it seems were talking about a backyard with some remains of a former airfield in the middle of a village.

In all honesty this is neither the right place nor has this museum a future - because of the location.
Afaik, there are plenty of bigger sites outside villages rotting, maybe it's time to move on and focus on one of those?

“I am not sure if you have ever visited the site or the museum – it is not a backyard but instead a completely intact complex of 6 wartime buildings & 2 air raid shelters. I can’t think of a better site for the museum and I believe the museum does have a future telling the story of an important wartime airfield & we have as much right to survive as similar museums such as Bassingbourn, Parham, Rougham etc that tell the stories of their airfields.”

Who owns that piece of land?

I made a quick overlay. Could you please point me to where these remaining buildings are? Couldn't find them on the satellite images.

Yes, I just realized that the buildings are about 1km away from the actual field.

:)
" Bottisham was in some ways unique in that many of the airfield buildings were dotted throughout the village and not on the airfield. The museum is on the old Site 4 of Bottisham airfield & we are fortunate that site 4 survives in its entirety virtually as it was in 1944.”

Having visited there this summer you really do get the feeling of going back and treading in places where things were so different 60+ years ago.All the buildings are in close proximity and to me once they have been destroyed and built on that would be a bit of history gone.
