It seems it was one of 2 things.

1 thing to try.
Make sure that your stick is assigned as controller 1 before you press start at the title screen.

1 other thing to try. If you have a 2nd user on your PS3, try it on that profile.
If the hanger works then you have a corrupt save file.

Have you tried it with the default controller settings?

StiC...thanks for the advise...that did the trick!!!:-D

I didn't try all...but appears as long as you're not on custom settings!!! Doesn't even matter if your using stick...just get get out of custom!!!
