Affects me on both onboard realtek & creative x-fi extreme music card. No difference noticed.

Haven't played in some weeks as the issue is so annoying.

It is defiantly connected with AI spawning. I have a dedicated server and have made missions.. sounds problems ALWAYS start when a side mission starts.

The only thing that may stop it is to have NO side missions start. I bet pure dogfight servers without AI are not affected.. unfortunately they are also very limited & somewhat boring.

Same here. :(

Yesterday when I played on mp server, at first there was a lot of planes and the sound disapered. Later on when there was only few planes and I had restart the game, I had no sound problem!

funny you should say that. Because i only ever go into the basic servers and never had the bug. and the first time i ventured out to the other servers i get the bugs.

the sound bug is related with the AI radio communication messages. most probably, it overwhelms the sound system with queued/simultaneous sound flows (or maybe some/many radio messages sounds are bugged, and break the sound system at the moment it tries to play them).

Most plausible guess I've heard yet :)

I completely lost sound when playing online (X-Fi Gamer with latest drivers). I think its because this is unfinished sim.

Agreed. If there wasn't a VAC ban looming then a decent experiment would be to kegtys mod out the communication sound files (or make them tiny) and that way it might not choke anymore.

I own COD on two different steam accounts, so might have to try this online anyway. In some ways if Luthier just gave a quick heads up of 'you will not get banned, or if you do it will be reversed' then we could go hog-wild on trying to find a make-shift solution...

Don't see much specs from ppl that complain about the bug though.
1. Drivers versions would be a start.
2. I presume most of you have multi core cpu's , What is the AffinityMask of the ppl with the problem. Did you try different Mask values (ie leaving one core for windows vs taking all the Cores vs taking only 1 core )
3. 64bit vs 32 bit ?
4. Chipset of the audio card ( It might be diff card manufacturer , but the might use the same audio chipset) .

From steam menu's you can get a System spec (think it is in the settings menu).

Paste the output of that( it lists some of the driver versions etc.. )
Personally I dont suffer from the sound problem. Win 7 64 , on a Mac Pro.
