Well i guess the forums are a pretty accurate representation as to where the game is at.
The devs do not seem to be worried that interest in their product is waning rapidly, otherwise they would be in here trying to whip us up and create some excitement or give us something to look forward too.

If that were true Tree you wouldn't be here. C'mon. Admit it. As disappointed as you may be with CoD you'll still be hanging around waiting for improvements. It IS what we all want. Right? We're adults, and we really don't need to be as informed as some people feel is necessary. No matter how much we kvetch and whine we are sim enthusiasts. That in itself will keep us coming back.

I'm pretty content waiting to see what patches bring. Is it really necessary for Luthier to babysit us when he clearly outlined the plan for the next few weeks 10 days ago? Sure, I want the improvements in like last week, but they're working on it.

If only 35% of what was outlined would be accomplished by last Friday, what good would it be to have an update on that?

The reason I think it's dead is because the beta patch won't be ready until Friday. Those who can play do. Those who can't hopefully wait patiently despite how frustrating it can be. Others are enjoying other games like RoF or XPlane or MSFS or Blackshark or or or.

I also think people are just tired of fighting with each other.

Well I hope its not true Robert, I admit that, but I honestly think that Luthier is playing a dangerous game by not communicating more frequently with us, either him or one of his team. If the dev's are going to continue to support this game when all the cash as been counted like they said they would, then you would expect them to be bending over backwards to keep us up to date after releasing a product in such a poor state, especially if they wish to release future add on's, and more importantly win back some respect and trust.

They don't really need to, they are effectively a monopoly in the WWII flight sim market. :-P

I actually like the current situation

- Those for whom the sim works are busy flying it, those that can't are waiting for patches

- Luthier gave us the short-term roadmap just a few days ago. And no, i don't need to know what goes on in their office on a day by day basis, a "patch-bug report-dev update-next patch" cycle is all that's needed.

- The main forum page is general discussion like it should be and specific topics go into the respective sub-forums.

It's a nice, easy to browse forum now that people have learned some netiquette and take the time to post in the relevant section. If by what many refer to as an "excited" forum they mean the situation shortly after release, then i'm very thankful we don't have it anymore.

It wasn't excited, it was a disorganized mess of double/triple posting threads on the main page because people couldn't take the time to use forum search and see if their issues had been brought up, along with a lot of "the sim is completely broken/no it's completely perfect" wishful thinking arguments.

I guess people got tired of arguing just for the sake of it. About time i say, as that leaves the stage free for others who can contribute in a more useful manner.

It's actually easy to browse through now and you can quickly find what interests you, instead of having to wade through an avalanche of agitated posts.

Do you really believe that though Blackdog? In a recent poll on here the majority of CLOD buyers had shelved it. I can get it to run fine now for FPS that is, but the rest of the game is so broken theres little point playing it.

It depends more on point of view and perception filters imho. Others may perceive it differently thus you can not say for everyone I think.

I'm not believing any of that. I believe the forum is full of trolls that love piling into threads like these. I suggest we make a sticky for these rants so you can come visit each other in one place.

But why post at all? Why? Does one think that this matters? There are many post like this at least once a day.

I play the hell out of CoD and love every minute.

They forget this isn't finished nor released to most who want it. So a lot of this is sideline chatter which says most are not even in the game yet. But they post as if they were.

You're in an extremely small minority.

I do feel very fortunate. Thanks
