I'd like that too. Something like Conquest in Battlefield rather than standard CTF.
Escort the Skytrain to the drop point, get enough paratroopers on the ground and they capture the enemy airstrip and they then have to fall back to a further airstrip. You have a choice of dropping your paratroopers at the enemy base, or at your own base to offset enemy drops trying to take over your airstrip.

Teams have to take off from their air strips, not in the air. Similar to Capture the Airstrip, but 5 air strips and you don't have to land to take them.Take off from any airstrip your team has taken over, have a minimum altitude to drop paratroopers from.

Thats a pretty cool idea... and to take it a step further, it would also be cool if you could actually see the paratroopers fighting around the airfield, and obviously strafe them too, to help capture the field quicker. The AI for the infantry wouldn't have to be amazing or anything either.

Used to do this on the territorial conquest gametype of fighter ace online. You would attack the base with bombers, once it reached a certain amount of damage a column of friendly AI tanks would spawn and set off to capture it, opposing teams protecting/trying to destroy them. Or, as mentioned, grab a C-47 or Ju-52/3m and drop paratroopers who would then capture it (hopefully intact) so your team could then make use of it. You'd have to destroy all the gun emplacements first though or they'd kill all the men, if they hadn't shot you down first because you had to fly low and slow for them to jump safely.

I remember one time playing as the Luftwaffe and being pushed back to our last airfield, seeing defeat was imminent I started messing around and dropped paratroops all over our own runway, after about 70 or 80 of them were dropped and running around someone wrote on the chat "could whoever is dropping paratroops on the base please stop, it isn't funny anymore"

Well it was funny at the time...

Yeah it would be great to have that. They wouldnt even need to be anything spectacular on the graphics side either. At scale with ground features a couple of animated polygons would do.

That would really open it out tactically. I could see some serious squadren team work with that scenario. I hope the devs take fan ideas onboard!!

There is a Zero in the Wings of Prey trailer, so I'm pretty sure the series will end up in the Pacific, either with an expansion pack or the sequel.

Well as long as they keep all the current european war aircraft and add a few more (mosquito??) for us to use online i'm happy.
