No the number on the leaderboard under joypad is games played, not games won - I tested it with my 30 dogfight win trophy :)

And to the OP, you don't need to worry about all this ranked/player match business - PS3 just has online games. But you will need to keep a track of how many you've won on a bit of paper or something. Maybe the dev's thought it would be more authentic if you had to mark all your own kills/wins lol.
