Ah OK the brownish color of the 110 panel. But the instruments are dark at night, and one must turn on the cockpit lighting, in my game at least :-)

Cheers!

The engine rewrite is code, not texture files etc. There is no reason for it to be a very large file. 200MB is the equivalent of 50,000 pages of text. Obviously there are sound files added amongst other things so it is not literally 50,000 pages of code!

yep yep... textures, sounds, maps/models, and movies are the big bits...

Patch does nothing to the game, seems to me like I should have no reinstalled for this and left it in its dusty box like most the folk who bought it.

Will check back in another 6 months or 12 but really this is disgusting to release such a poor coded game, I will await the financial struggle in all countries excuse soon as to why they cannot fix it.

If the patch changes nothing for you... You are doing it wrong.

Run-on sentences 101 they just run-on and on and on and on and on. The patch did help me.

I was in the same boat, and only took the plunge after the hotfix was released as I was intrigued by what I was reading (plus the ATAG beta-patch-hotfix server always had loads of people on it).

I havent bothered to compare FPS, but I will say that the game looks so much nicer for me, plus the biggest improvement is how much better/easier it is to spot planes and identify as friend or foe at a further distance.

Game runs smooth for me, but it did on before I installed the beta patch + hotfix.

There are however some graphical issues (seeing runway taxi lights via the cockpit) and sometimes the mirror pops up even when its disabled. Enjoying the game alot more now (plus I dont get a memory leak that caused my game to stutter to a crash).

The mirrors re-enable themselves with low res textures whenever my ac suffers some physical damage, even light damage seems to cause this. If I zoom in and out a few times the mirrors and textures return to normal and I can disable them.
