hi. on the ps3 should the required "aerial combat" primary training tutorial take 340+ minutes with no enemy bombers after the first 45 or so minutes?

after 300 minutes of aimlessly patrolling the english channel and buzzing the countryside i finally quit out of the mission. my stats say the attempt was unsuccessful, but 13 targets were destroyed as well as the 2 primary targets, and my efficiency is "unbelievable".

i can understand if the mission is meant to acclimate the user to flight characteristics, but 5 hours seems a bit much...

Hi, I've been here a while, but am new to the PS3. I just bought the game, and am getting ready to try it, with my X52. I have played all of the IL-2 PC series, but it's the first time flying on a console for me.

I am Firemancv on PS network.

A rather long-winded introduction (apologies beforehand)

Greetings from the southeast US to everyone!

I just picked up this title after having really enjoyed the demo waaay back when it came out; I know, I'm late to the party, lol. I'm doing the campaign on Simulation and though frustrating at times, am having a blast.

I've been a WWII buff for a good few years now, and actually got started through the aircraft, my favorite of which would have to be the P-38 Lightning, though I don't hold it against this game that she's not featured here; I know it wouldn't be a fair fight against any of those flying kubelwagens, lol. :)

I play on the Xbox 360, with my gamertag being my username here. I'm usually available almost every day from around 8-ish PM EST on until the wee hours. I'd love to get in with the online community here, and hopefully I'll see y'all in the skies soon!

PS @ hoghead: Awesome, I'm a railfan :D Like he said, don't shoot the trains!

hello trumpet and welcome to the forum. when it says that all that means is there are no open games at the moment. people may be in the middle of matches. hang out for awhile and keep trying. you will find more games in real and sim than in arcade though. you can also try hosting ( creating) a game and see what happens. if people drop out dont take it personal....they were probably in a game with a group and want to get back there....follow them. add some of the uk xboxers from here and you will get games.

Introduction

Greetings,

I go by the user name, ProneKobra on the PS3.

I have played flight sims for a long time - my first being in about 1990 with Flight Simulator on the Atari ST computer.

Another flight sim I really enjoyed was Fighter Anthologies by Jane's.

I am really happy that a decent sim for consoles has finally been released, and look forward to seeing you all in the air!

So -- how realistic is the flying in this game? Does your altitude and speed affect your turn rate, or does it really seem to affect it?

Hello all.

Just picked up a PS3 and this just had to be the first game that I bought!!!

I'm new to any sort of PC or console sim, though I do fly real world RC planes on a regular basis... so the gimbals in my hands fell good.

I'm sticking with the campaign for now (second day) until I feel that I won't be a complete waist of air space before hitting up the network...

PSN: etotheo77

Happy hunting.
