I am intrigued, do you have a link to some stats on this claim, I would like to give the benefit of doubt on what sound like a wildly exaggerated claim.

Google the number of dead at Reno the last few years. I don't know the totals, but it's pretty bad.

My first google hit came up with 44 deaths in an 18 year history of Reno air racing.....Christ that's like a busload, can you imagine a busload of people dying every 18years.......carnage, I'm convinced, from now on it's road travel all the way for me.

44 in 18 years at Reno is approximately the equivalent of about 150 dying every year at air shows in the US. 150. Every year. How long do you think air shows would last with that sort of casualty rate?
