One day, 4.12 will just appear. TD will keep telling us "two weeks", and why would they do otherwise? I'm looking forward to the true widescreen more than anything. But, I can wait...

Hello,

We actually play IL-2 multiplayer relatively frequently among my group of friends. Sometimes its 2 or 3 of us over the internet (with HSFX sometimes, stock 4.11.1 other times) and other times it is at LAN parties with 6-10 players. To simplify things and to keep IL-2 capable of running on everyone's machines we pretty much stick to stock 4.11.1 at LAN parties. Everyone can join and we've got it set so that noobs are having fun from the get-go. I'd say we've got a pretty healthy IL-2 community building here (plus by 4 year old son is a huge fan). DCS is too difficult for most casual users, Rise of Flight can be made easy but has demanding system requirements and Cliffs of Dover is a broken mess. With all that in mind, IL-2 strikes the perfect balance for LANing and internet coop. Will Asura's DGen improvements be carried over to the coop campaign? Coop campaigns would rule.

Cheers,

Fafnir_6

Multiplayer campaigns are using the NGen file. Asura got the NGen source code from Starshoy, but he doesn't have the time to work on it, improving DGen is already more than enough work. But if Team Daidalos or anyone else with programming knowledge likes to work on NGen, they can get the code.

Have you tried using DCG?

Just like to inform you, that our development forum, which already had repeatly some problems in the last months, now was hacked and is down. I don't know the status, as I don't have direct contact with the forum hoster. I hope, our discussions were backed up, many information in there would be lost.

However, files are save elsewhere - its 'only' the communication and organisation, that is now paused and the patch release got another heavy delay. :(

I'm sorry!

Well that just sucks...

At least news are much more frequent than some payed simulator development teams. Even if it's bad news.

Thx a lot Caspar for the status update.
