Here is something weird. At default medium settings my frame rates range 50-60. If I change anything like lowering amount of buildings from medium to low my average FPS drops below 25!

(and yes I did restart the sim)

I bought the DVD version as I have a 2MB connection only....

Good night.

To fix this issue a quick search of Steam would have given you this answer;

Installing from Disc instead of Steam
Question

I try to install my retail game from the included disc(s), but the game begins downloading through Steam instead. What can be done?
Answer

Using Steam launch options to install retail games from disc

1. Log in to Steam and click on Library.
2. Right-click on the game, select Delete local content, and confirm.
3. Insert the first disc into your computer.
4. Close Steam (Steam > Exit).
5. Press Windows Key + R to open Run
6. In the Run window type:

"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -install E:

Replace E: with the CD/DVD drive you are installing from if is not correct.
Replace C:\Program Files\Steam if your Steam installation is not in the default location.
7. Press OK. Steam will launch and ask you to sign in if you do not have your password saved. Your installation should continue from the disc.

Its a common enough issue with Steam games.

"By popular demand, enemy indicator arrows will now only appear in the no-cockpit
view, and will not show up when the cockpit is turned on, i.e. work they did in
the original Il-2 games."

Thank God! that was a game killer for me!

Game is running very nicely in most all respects...but...still getting some big blocks of graphic glitches in the water. Not alway, but random.

KDN 05-21-2011 02:33 AM

I see those random graphic glitches over water too.

Anyone else seeing that prop pitch is reversed on the 109 (according to the key commands) now?

Compare a Spitfire and a 109 .... the command 'Decrease Pitch' decreases pitch in the Spit, but actually increases pitch in the 109.

Which means if, like me, you fly both the 109 and British aircraft from time to time, you have to have two separate joystick configs to avoid confusion.

I swear the devs are trying to make it harder for us ;)

I like the new propeller visuals, but have to report a bug. Flying inside a cloud makes my entire screen flash and strobe like I'm at a rave.

ARGH 05-21-2011 03:56 AM

the propellar does not appear right to me. its like it spaz's out. instead of being a constant ring pleasantly to look at, it instead just apears one second and disapears the next in a spaz-fasion.
