Glad to hear it. The MBR-2 will be the first flyable flying boat in the game.

While on the subject of seaplanes, and I know it's only got the one engine, but I'd love to have a flyable Ar196 (2x 20 mm canons, 1x MG 15, 1x MG 17 and a 50 kg bomb load under each wing as well).

As for other aquatic 2 (and 3 engine) multi's the He115, Do18 and the Do24 would all be great to have for the axis, not to mention all those lovely Cant seaplanes.

And even if only in AI form I like to also see the Sunderland, Mariner and Mavis make it into the sim one one day.

What was the first? The A6M2-N was obviously the first (and, so far, only) flyable seaplane, but it's not a flying boat (where fuselage is also boat hull, rather than standard fuselage supported by pontoons).

Also, based on screenshots on Aviaskins, it looks like work on the MBR-2 crew stations is progressing. Very nice stuff! It will be great fun to fly this rare bird.

The model, and the damage model, will need some upgrading.

As for adding new planes, especially new flyables, to the game all we can hope for is that many more talented folks work with DT!

Oh, and add the Supermarine Walrus, the Vought O2SU Kingfisher, the Curtiss SOC Seagull, the Shavrov Sh-2, and the Mitsubishi F1M to the wish list. And catapult takeoff from battleships. And a pony!

The Kingfisher has been brought up before and is out of the question (for the same reason as the TBF  )
I am not sure about the SOC Seagull though. A F1M would be very nice....
And perhaps proper Catalinas, (both land and amphibious versions) but these may be out of the question as well (somebody kick Grumman in the #$%)

It does appear that NG has sunk its fangs into anything Vought aircraft ever built, even though they no longer own the successor company.

Anything by Curtiss or Curtiss-Wright is fair game.

So far McDonnell-Douglas (successor to Consolidated) seems tone more reasonable about trademark and copyright issues. Also, the PBN Nomad was a different aircraft, built by the US Navy. So, at least some of their stuff seems possible to get into the game.
